As part of his recent promotional tour in Japan, MAN OF STEEL star Henry Cavill spoke to Cinema Today, a Japanese movie news outlet, about MAN OF STEEL. We now have a picture from his visit and the translation of his interview thanks to The Henry Cavill Verse.
On the fresh take on Superman:
There is a big difference between the current Superman and the past movies about this hero, where you will be drawn to the realism of how a normal everyday character develops into someone that is extraordinary.
On Snyder being the ideal director:
It required a considerable amount of energy from the staff. Not to mention the enforced discipline and it can really be felt in the atmosphere. It’s almost unfair that everyone felt cramped. But the point is, Snyder was an ideal director for the movie. I was inspired by his positive attitude, he made the movie fun to make.
On building his body and looking tired:
I began training from the production preparation stage. The problem I encountered was I could not work out after the shoot. Getting up early in the morning for a hard training, then shooting for a long period of time, it’s pretty hard to be in front of the camera and not have a tired face.
MAN OF STEEL releases on 14th June 2013.
