John Alvin's movie poster art is among the most iconic of the last 40 years, from Disney films such as Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, and Pinocchio, to Empire of the Sun, Gremlins, Blazing Saddles, Predator, and the Star Wars 30th anniversary posters.

This book not only collects some of Alvin’s finest work, but also includes previously unseen comprehensives and in progress sketches. With the text including commentary from Alvin’s widow, this is a unique insight into the work of one of the 20th century’s great artist/illustrators.

Great film, obviously. But I wished it hadn't strayed so far from the book. I wish they would remake it and really capture all of the science and philosophy the book was about. They did cover all of the topics in the film, but with such limited amount of time it was always very brief.

can see why these weren't used, you have to see what the audience would think this film was about if they saw a poster and thats it and some of them dont capture what the film is about, good though

This would be as if Mantinium and his exceptionally eloquent way of speaking started designing movie posters:

I like all of these posters. The one with T-rex skeleton coming to life reminds me of the picture book "Time Flies" by Eric Rohmann.

By the way, I'm sorry for reposting this comment, I couldn't completely remember how to post pictures.

It's interesting to see the creative process with these. Some of those taglines are terrible.
