Plot Synopses For Final Two Episodes Of GAME OF THRONES Season 5

HBO has released the plot synopses for the final two season 5 episodes of Game Of Thrones and even though the descriptions are fairly vague, it sure sounds like this season is about to come to one helluva close, with many of our favorite heroes and villains making some serious moves.

GAME OF THRONES JUNE EPISODES

Episode #49: “The Dance of Dragons”
Debut: SUNDAY, JUNE 7 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT)

Stannis (Stephen Dillane) confronts a troubling decision. Jon (Kit Harington) returns to The Wall. Mace (Roger Ashton-Griffiths) visits the Iron Bank. Arya (Maisie Williams) encounters someone from her past. Dany (Emilia Clarke) reluctantly oversees a traditional celebration of athleticism.

Episode #50: “Mother’s Mercy” (season finale)
Debut: SUNDAY, JUNE 14 (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

Stannis marches. Dany is surrounded by strangers. Cersei (Lena Headey) seeks forgiveness. Jon is challenged.

Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne continues.

It stretches from the south, where heat breeds plots, lusts and intrigues, to the vast and savage eastern lands, where a young queen raises an army. All the while, in the frozen north, an 800-foot wall of ice precariously protects the war-ravaged kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men...all play the 'Game of Thrones.'

An original series based on George R.R. Martin's best-selling 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series.

They've been building up this season like an orgasm. I hope it pays off.

"For the watch."

@Grodd87 It'll payoff. There's only 2 seasons left after this.

This is the weakest season of GoT.

I hope they let the 2 other dragons out of that dungeon/dragon lair this season. I know how they get out in the books, but the guy that opens the dungeon up isn't in the show.

This feels like the weakest season of GoT, but even then it's pretty freaking good. Can't wait to see the Boltons get what they deserve

It is still very watchable but as others have said this show is starting to rival TWD for a long build up. I do think it has dropped in quality just because it doesn't seem as interesting anymore but i'm wondering if that is to do with the books it is based on because i have heard one of them is a nightmare to try and get through. Definitely not a page turner. That said I'm in for the long haul now so hopefully it livens up before the end. I hope we at least see the Boltons taken down this season (this is not a spoiler i have no idea what happens in the books) :)

Damn it. I was hoping we'd see the battle on the ice between Stannis' forces and the Boltons this season.

Doesn't sound like there will be any episode like the the Beheading of Ned, the Battle of Blackwater, the Red Wedding, or the Battle at the Wall this season. What's the big WTF? Does Dany actually murder all the nobles? Because that would be killer, literally.

@AlaRebelde

I agree completely. This season has probably been my favourite. It's been a lot slower on action, but there's been a lot of development with my favourite characters, Tyrion, Jorah, Margaery, Ramsay, and Jon.

Ramsay is one of your favorite characters? You sadistic son of a bitch ...

I think some of you are mistaking plot development with character development.

Who has really developed this season?
1.Stannis, maybe. We at least got a better idea about how he feels about his daughter.

2.Jon hasn't really changed. I guess he's learning how to rule the Wall. That's something.

3.Tyrion started as a drunk, saw a dragon, and that's about it. We'll probably see some more development in the next three episodes, assuming he believes in Dany and she starts to trust him.

4.Arya hasn't had any character development, which is odd. She's still whiny and doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut. I hope she matures soon and becomes a badass assassin.

5.Sansa has had a little development, but it's really uneven. Why didn't she fight Ramsay? I thought she was growing a backbone?

I mean, I could go on. It's been 7 hours of TV so far, and most of the characters haven't really changed. Things have happened, sure, but who had developed as a character in any kind of fundamental way?

@blackandyellow

Maybe a little. But yeah, he's definitely one of my favourites. He's the epitome of cruelty, and his remorseless smile is so goddamn creepy. I love it. I've always loved a great villain, and Ramsay is proving himself to be one of the best we've seen in GoT.

@Reasonnnn

A poor payoff at that in my opinion, considering what made it good in the source material was everything that occurred beforehand and the Pink Letter which may be ommitted as a consequence. I mean... post-Lord Commander elections the story at the Wall shifts to an ancient military order going through a revolution to make peace with a civilisation that have acted as their sworn enemies for thousands of years, with "For the Watch" being an appropriate climax with meaning. Seeing how they've handled this story it will be to them some twistershockomg, which is all they viewed Ned's death as (because Ned's death, the Red Wedding, etc. all it means to them is shock, shock, shock and omgmoarshock).

It's gonna go down these last 3 episodes. Dany, Arya, Cersei and Jon are gonna shine. And those awaiting for the big episode to come. Just like winter, it's coming.

This season has been rushed and disappointing. Still holding out hope, since there have been a few interesting twists.

still on season 2. i guess i am not in a hurry when i know the show is going to be renewed for 20 more seasons.

Yeah, no twists. Everybody saw it coming when Tyrion got kidnapped and was sold into slavery, Jorah got Greyscale, Jon was elected commander of the nights watch, Sansa going back to Winterfell and marrying Ramsay Bolton, Cersei getting arrested for banging her cousin, Loras getting arrested for being gay, Margaery getting arrested for knowing about it. Yeah, that was all so predictable.

The scale of the whole production is pretty amazing, but as far as plot goes, this series is [frick]ing gobbledygook.
Still enjoying it though.

A lot of the decisions made by the show were really good. If you check out the changes they made from the book it makes sense why things are happening the way they are. I think Greyscale is totally gonna replace the Bloody Flux. Thanks a lot Jorah.

*spoiler alert*

JS is gonna bite it, DT is gonna fly off, we're in for a big sad ending. then Cersie is gonna get her zombie mountain body guard.

Let's be honest here, we all know the wall is coming down, the dragons are gonna save the day and we get a bittersweet ending where one good guy makes it out alive to pick up the pieces.

So it seems no Stannis vs Bolton? Well what do we have then? There's no character left to kill of gruesomely to even care about. Maybe Jorah but even if he dies I wouldn't be that shocked. Maybe Lady Olenna. There's no badass loveable Oberyn character this season. No real high stakes. This could be the worst final two episode in GOT history.

The only thing that would the the biggest WTF and seal Game of Thrones as the greatest TV show of all time is if they pull a swerve and the Brothers Without Banners kidnap Brienne and Pod at the end of episode 10. Brienne wonders why thoros of myr has her and pod in his clutches, only to reveal Lady Stoneheart in all her glory. Played by a certain returning fan favourite actress. If they do that I think it could be a bigger than the Red Wedding with book fans and tv only fans alike.

One can only dream.
