It sounds like Maria Hill may be getting ready to team-up with Ethan Hunt very soon! A new report has revealed that Cobie Smulders is in early talks for a lead role in Jack Reacher 2, which stars Tom Cruise as the titular Reacher. Come check it out!
Hot on the heels of the recent news that revealed the production start date and expected release date for Paramount's Jack Reacher sequel, a new report has revealed that the upcoming film may have found its female lead in an Avengers star.
The Wrap is reporting that Cobie Smulders (Avengers: Age Of Ultron) is in early negotiations to star opposite Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation) in the Ed Zwick-directed sequel, which is expected to start shooting this November and is said to be an adaptation of Lee Child's 2013 novel Never Go Back. Details about her character are being kept under wraps, but the name of the character is reportedly Danika.
Smulders, who is probably best known on CBM for her role as Agent Maria Hill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been having a big year as she followed up on her appearance in Marvel's Avengers: Age Of Ultron with the lead roles in two well-received indie comedies: Andrew Bujalski's Results and Kris Swanberg's Unexpected. Cruise currently has the #1 film in the world in Mission: Impossilbe - Rogue Nation and is also finishing up the drug thriller Mena with Doug Liman (Edge Of Tomorrow).
