From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary “Mad Max” franchise, comes “Mad Max: Fury Road,” a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky.

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

Still weird as hell though.

First scene was too dull and would have broken the pace.
Second scene had an obvious fake plastic baby.
Third scene was incomprehensible.

Glad they were cut.

Mindless? It actually had quite the story and message. The action was absolutely top notch though.

These scenes would have muddled the pacing a litte, glad they cut them.

This, Rogue Nation, and Kingsman are all kind of surrounding my number one slot. All just amazing films.

Those scenes are already available when you purchase the digital version. By the the way I don't like they release the digital version one month earlier than the blu ray...

Want those deleted scenes in the DVD release..makes it darker which is good.
Fury Road was actually pretty tame showing very little actual blood,etc.
No real nudity for R-rated film either..I like mine with more sex/violence.
Still a new classic!

This was a fun movie, an orgy of action and visuals. But best movie of the year? C'mon. Expand your horizons, some of you. I liked it a lot, my main complaint was that I wish they hadn't turned around and gone through the canyon again. Just felt like more of the same, by that point. I was hoping for more of a build up to something cooler...and then the same type of action we'd been watching for 30 mins happened for another 20 or whatever...eh.

Wow, that last scene was straight-up a callback style of directing from the first two films.

@Pathogen

I was waiting for the part where you tell us what movie you thought was the best of the year so far.
