Director Bryan Singer has announced that after an extensive five-month shoot that kicked off in late April, X-Men: Apocalypse has officially wrapped production with the main unit. The second unit will continue to film until September 4th, but today should be a wrap on the main stars including, but not limited to, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Oscar Isaac.

It's the third film to wrap this weekend following Marvel's Captain America: Civil War and Roland Emmerich's Independence Day: Resurgence.

Check out Singer's announcement and a shot from the wrap party, featuring X-Men-themed drinks, below:

It has all lead to this. All of the battles (both outside and within the group), action, relationships and time travel that the uncanny X-Men have endured have lead to this, their biggest story ever – X-Men: Apocalypse. Following the universe changing events of 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past comes this epic mutant adventure and with it a number of casting opportunities for performers of all ages.

X-Men: Apocalypse will follow the super powered mutants battling their most powerful foe yet, the devious and devastatingly dangerous Apocalypse. This legendary villain uses his incredible abilities to alter his physical form, access other mutant superpowers and telekinesis to recruit a cult-like group called the Four Horsemen to be his servants and do his bidding in an all out war against the X-Men.

X-Men: Apocalypse features:
Director: Bryan Singer
Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine
James McAvoy as Charles Xavier/Professor X
Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto
Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkhölme/Mystique
Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy/Beast
Oscar Isaac as En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse
Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert
Channing Tatum as Remy LeBeau/Gambit
Tye Sheridan as Scott Summers/Cyclops
Sophie Turner as Jean Grey
Alexandra Shipp as Ororo Munroe/Storm
Kodi Smit-McPhee as Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler
Evan Peters as Peter Maximoff/Quicksilver
Lucas Till as Alex Summers/Havok
Ben Hardy as Warren Worthington III/Angel
Lana Condor as Jubilation Lee/Jubilee

Days Of Future was the best comic book movie last year, and in the last 5 years.

Apocalypse will be the end of this masterful 1st Class trilogy. And iv'e NEVER been more excited for a film in my life. Can't [frick]ing wait until next year.

@WakandasSoul

Don't get me wrong, TWS is PHENOMENAL. BUT, the drama, action, dialogue, score pacing, central conflict and characters are superior in DOFP imo.

The X-Men movies are weird to me. X2, First Class and DOFP (Wolverine and X-Men to a lesser extent) deserve to be in the pantheon of great CBMS, but ohhhhh boy, do the designs suck, with a few exceptions. Not to mention XO and TLS.

But this is looking great

@BatmanHeisenberg Don't waste you're time bro. People get SO butt hurt if you say ANYTHING positive about the X-Men films. And it's funny and entertaining.

They often have a right to. While, IMO, fantastic films overrall, the ROYALLY [frick] the comics.

@BatmanHeisenberg I see these as FILMS first. These comic book movies do not need to take everything from the comics. That's boring.

Why is that comic book movie "fans" put ALL these stipulations on these filsm that other movies don't? All I want is good writing, acting, directing, and action everything else is irrelevant when judging a movie.

@DrDoom The 1st Avenger was a SNOOZE fest. They should rename that movie NyQuil but if you like it bro... more power to ya.

@DrDoom 1st Class was entertaining and fun to watch. And had actual action scenes. Marvel should leave the period pieces to Fox and Singer.

@FrozenMarvelite Go watch Frozen for the 500th time ;)

looking forward to this, I've enjoyed the X-Men franchise. Apocalypse looks nothing like his comic book self but I don't get up in arms over character designs.

I hope this movie is great, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was looking way more forward to BvS and Civil War and think that they both will easily be better than Apocalypse.
