War is on the horizon for Andy Serkis' Caesar and his ape brethren. The upcoming 2017 sequel War Of The Planet Of The Apes may have found one of its lead roles in East Los High star Gabriel Chavarria. Come check it out to see whether he's playing a human or an ape!
20th Century Fox's upcoming sci-fi sequel War Of The Planet Of The Apes has found one of its two human leads in Gabriel Chavarria (East Los High). He joins director Matt Reeves, who also helmed the previous installment, and star Andy Serkis (Avengers: Age Of Ultron), who's returning for his third go-round as franchise hero Caesar. Mark Bomback (The Wolverine) is penning the script. Details about Chavarria's role as well as details on the film's plot remain under wraps.
Considering that the original 2011 reboot Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes grossed over $481 million worldwide, a sum which its 2014 sequel Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes nearly doubled with its $708 million global haul, Fox certainly has high hopes for this upcoming third installment.
War Of The Planet Of The Apes is expected to hit theaters July 14, 2017; a week after Disney's Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and two weeks before Marvel/Sony's upcoming Spider-Man reboot.
