STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON Actor Aldis Hodge Lands Role In Tom Cruise's JACK REACHER 2
Tom Cruise's upcoming Jack Reacher sequel has added another rising star in the form of Aldis Hodge, who's coming fresh off a memorable turn in F. Gary Gray's Straight Outta Compton. Come check it out! The Ed Zwick-directed picture hits theaters October 2016.
Not only has F. Gary Gray's Straight Outta Compton been dominating the U.S. box office, it's also been paying huge dividends to the everyone involved as another one of its stars has just landed a role in an upcoming major project.
Variety is reporting that Aldis Hodge, who played MC Ren in the aforementioned critically acclaimed biopic, is currently in talks to join Paramount and Skydance's Jack Reacher sequel, which is being directed by Academy Award-winner Ed Zwick (The Last Samurai) and stars 3x Academy Award-nominee Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation) in the lead. Details about Hodge's role are being kept tightly under wraps.
The news of Hodge's casting comes shortly after it was reported that Danika Yarosh (Heroes Reborn) was also up for a key role. Once their deals are finalized, both will join Cruise and Cobie Smulders (Avengers: Age Of Ultron), who was previously reported to have been cast as the female lead, on set this November.
Rumor has it the studios are currently on the search for the lead villain.
Outside of his Compton role, Hodge is probably best known for his main role on the TNT drama Leverage and for his work on the AMC drama TURN: Washington's Spies. He's also made appearances in A Good Day To Die Hard, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Friday Night Lights, Supernatural, & The Walking Dead.
