Our friends over at ComicBook have learned that the second season of The Flash has cast Marco Grazzini (Heroes Reborn) as Joseph "Joey" Montelone a.k.a. Tar Pit. The character is being described as a vengeful meta-human with the ability to transform himself into molten asphalt. It's a little unclear how he comes across Barry Allen's alter-ego, but when he does, he's going to use his powers to gain a powerful tactical advantage over The Flash, who will find himself in a whole world of trouble as the ground literally shifts beneath his feet. Grazzini will make his debut as Tar Pit during the second-half of this season.

What do you guys think of the casting? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Last year, the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, creating a dark matter storm that struck forensic scientist Barry Allen — bestowing him with super-speed and making him the fastest man alive. But Barry wasn’t the only person who was given extraordinary abilities that night. The dark matter also created meta-humans — many of whom have wreaked havoc on the city. With the help of the S.T.A.R Labs team, Caitlin Snow, Cisco Ramon and Dr. Harrison Wells, Barry protects the people of Central City from these powerful new threats as The Flash. Following the defeat of Allen's arch-nemesis Eobard Thawne (aka Reverse Flash), Team Flash must quickly turn their attention to the singularity swirling high above Central City, consuming everything in its path. Armed with the heart of a hero and the ability to move at super speeds, Barry charged into the eye of the singularity, but can he actually save his city from impending doom?

The Flash features:
Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/Flash
Candice Patton as Iris West
Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow
Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon
Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne
Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West
John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen
Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen
Robbie Amell as Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm
Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein/Firestorm
Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold
Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West
Tony Todd as Zoom
Shantel VanSanten as Patty Spivot
Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick

At least be from Earth 1... Geez, all the cool new villains are coming from Earth 2. Has Earth 1 run out of bad guys?

Haven't watched tonight's Arrow, but Flash had a good and fairly enjoyable episode. Pacing sucked and they tried too many things and failed to execute them. Actress playing Hawkgirl was damn awful in her acting. Vandal Savage was ok. Nothing wow about him.

An underwhelming and but fairly enjoyable episode. Nothing exciting happened throughout the series. Never felt that anyone is in danger.

@dcnoob122 I'm pretty sure it was more of a Smallville reference about Superman...

I just hope he's as big as King Shark. He needs to be a big pain in Flash's butt. If the CW does him right he could be just as great as Clay Face. In the comics it just seems like they never really let Tar Pit be as great as he should be and I hope he'll finally get his do justice.

So..I watched this and during the fight scenes all I keep thinking was "Man..they fight in slow motion, half assing it"

I mean seriously, maybe I grew up watching the good martial arts flicks and other movies with good fight choreography...but does anyone actually dig the fight scenes or find them believable?

Nah, but they're just actors, so I don't expect too much. I've always commended Arrow for having the actors perform most of their own stuntwork. I remember the era of fall guys in bad wigs, so it's cool that you can see Ollie's face when he swings or Roy's face when he backflips.
Laurel was outright useless. All she did was scream (in the direction of all the heroes) and then get jumped on by Vandal Savage.

I dug the crossover. I hate Arrow but the episode was actually better than Flash's.

@rabid I'm always a few days (at least) behind on episodes, so I haven't seen the whole team up against Vandal. I don't know. Its so corny to see how they misuse archers in this show. I mean, the whole part of Green Arrow is that he's super accurate...yet he seems to miss an awful lot, and as an archer should know that a bow isn't a short range weapon. Especially in a cluttered room against armed combatants. I just don't think the writers and choreographers are creative at all.
Or maybe just restricted by budget

I can look past the little annoyances because they give us cool shots of Ollie firing an arrow per second. If only Hawkeye could pull from his quiver that fast!
But one thing will annoy you when you watch this week's episode. They get plenty of chances to fill Savage full of arrows from all sides and never take it. We've got a team of people with ranged weapons who would for some reason rather punch and kick an immortal man up close than puncture him from afar.

@rabid Yes! That's exactly what I'm talking about. Ah well.
