The Lego brand is facing a resurgence with The Lego Movie currently dominating the box office and they don't plan on stopping there. Fox announced earlier today that it will air an all-Lego episode of The Simpsons on May 4 at 8 p.m. This episode will also mark the 550th episode of the long running series.

The official description of the episode, titled "Brick Like Me," reads:

Homer wakes up in a world where his family and everyone in Springfield are made of Legos. Will he be able to "put together" how he got there and how to get back home before he's stuck in the brick world forever?

The show is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary season and has already been renewed for a 26th season set to air this fall.

The Simpsons
was created by Matt Groening and features voice work from:
Dan Castellanaeta as Homer Simpson (and others)
Julie Kavner as Marge Simpson (and others)
Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpson (and others)
Yeardley Smith as Lisa Simpson
Hank Azaria as various characters
Harry Shearer as various characters
Pamela Hayden as various characters
Tress MacNeille as various characters

The Simpsons return March 9 with two brand new episodes!

The Simpsons is still on?

But...why?

Simpsons are nothing but whores now that cash in on popular trends and whatever is hip. With South Park, they simply take the piss out of what is going on in the world right now and provide a social commentary as they always have.

Because people still watch it?

"Homer and his family have taken mass amounts of hallucinogenic drugs and it's up to a concerned Lisa to save her doped up family!"

More cheap gimmicks used to gain viewers.

The Simpsons are long dead.

I have a feeling The Simpsons is like Power Rangers, it'll be around forever in some form or another. For my part, I still watch and enjoy every episode. Its not as good as it used to be but its still very watchable.

I'll bet Seth McFarlane is looking at this and will head into the next Family Guy board meeting and say "Hey guys! I got a great idea for a new episode!"

Also, I think legos are good toys and all, but I really don't get this whole craze for them that's been going on for a few years now with the video games and now movies and tv shows. It all is just...well, weird.

Tuned out of the liberal wank fest that this series turned into years ago.
Every episode was the same: Poor stupid Homer rescued or corrected by O-so smart lib progressive Lisa who has all the answers.
A shame really used to be very funny.

@Dork

Lol, I'm pretty sure you've gotten ass hurt over my bitching out Simpsons before. I read the title, got intrigued, read the whole title, realized it was typical shitty New Simpsons tactics and commented. Dear dear, aren't I a evil [frick]er? Slap the cuffs on me, I deserve it.

Homer used to be a guy that lacked some basic common sense and was a lazy [frick] but more of an angry guy than full blown retarded... what is it with Simpsons, American Dad and Family Guy all having their main protagonists being idiots with zero IQ in recent seasons?

don't get me wrong seasons 1-10 i think make up the greatest tv ever. but seriously the quality since then has been declining badly. I am most baffled by the fact that it still has another season after this one. idgaf if it still has viewers, just end it already….

I've never been a fan of the Simpsons. Tried watching a long time ago but wasn't impressed. Kudos to them for still being on tv though. Still not a fan and won't watch.

F--k all you b!tchass Simpsons haters! This is the greatest show of all time! Family Guy, Boondocks, South Park wouldn't even be around if it weren't for the Simpsons! You should all pay homage by sucking on Homer's fat d!ck until the end of time!
