Michael C. Hall as Matt Murdock/ Daredevil
The son of a prize fighter named Battlin' Jack, Matt grew up in the relative poverty of Hell's Kitchen with much reverence for his father, who constantly pressed him to study instead of playing with his friends. As a boy, Matt witnessed a man about to be hit by a truck, and pushed him out of the way, just as the truck crashed and spilled it's cargo, extremely toxic chemicals, into his face. He awoke in the hospital, now blind from the toxins, and learned that his other senses were amplified as a result of his loss of sight. He would later become a lawyer, opening a law firm with Foggy Nelson, and taking on the mantle of 'Daredevil' after his father's death, in order to protect the citizens of Hell's Kitchen and bring justice to the streets as well as the courtroom.
He is a popular pick for the role and a favorite actor of mine. He shows the right intensity and ability to fight in
Dexter and he could really bring it to this role.
John Schneider as Jack Murdock
Jonathan "Jack" Murdock was a professional boxer and the father of Matt Murdock. Using Braille technology and studying diligently, Matt graduated college and became a law student at Columbhia. At this time Jack Murdock was an aging prize fighter having difficulty getting matches that paid money to support him and Matt. He once wrestled a facical match as the masked "Red Devil" because of his finanacial dire stratights. However, afterwards Jack felt that he had undignified himself and vowed never to do so again. Shortly therafter, with the help of the notorious promoter Roscoe Sweeney aka "The Fixer" Jack landed a big fight. Sweeney was a disreputable character who many boxers, previously including Jack Murdock, had steered clear of. Again, due to his lack of finances, Jack signed with Sweeney. Much to his shock, the Fixer soon asked Jack Murdock to "take a dive" and lose this match on purpose. Perhaps remembering his shame of his performance as "Red Devil", Jack refused and fought the "fight of his career" and won. As revenge, Sweeney had his men beat Jack Murdock to death when he walked out of the building shortly after the match.
Schneider does great in the father/mentor role and as Jack Murdock he could show another side with a more bad ass fighting role. His death would lead to Matt moving in with Stick and pushing him to become Daredevil.
Mathew Perry as Foggy Nelson
Franklin "Foggy" Nelson is the best friend of Matt Murdock. Foggy was Matt Murdock's roommate while they were studying at Columbia Law School. Matt protected Foggy against bullies and helped him study. When Matt began dating Elektra Natchios, Foggy disapproved, because he thought she was dangerous (which turned out to be extremely true). After Elektra left the university, Matt and Foggy transferred to Harvard Law School. After graduating, Matt and Foggy opened up a private law practice. They hired a secretary, Karen Page, with whom both Matt and Foggy fell in love. Sadly, Karen's life would turn to tragedy years later.
Mathew Perry is known for his comedic roles and in this he would serve for good comedic relief in an otherwise serious movie. In this movie Foggy would support the Daredevil while Matt would disagree with him. He would also hit on Karen Page while Matt was away.
Tobin Bell as Stick
A number of years ago in New York City, Matthew Murdock, who was then not yet an adult, was accidentally bombarded by radiation from a canister of radioactive waste materials. This unknown radiation blinded him, but also mutagenically heightened his other senses. Sometime after young Murdock was released from the hospital to which he was brought after the accident, he was found by Stick. It was Stick who taught Murdock how to control his newly heightened senses and who guided him in mastering his so-called "radar sense," which resembled Stick's own "proximity sense." Stick also trained Murdock in methods of hand-to-hand combat.
Tobin Bell has a dark mysterious look that is perfect for this role. He can show the knowledge and nobility that he passes on to Murdock. In the movie he would be shown as the mentor to Murdock and when his father dies Murdock would move in with him.
Bryce Dallas Howard as Karen Page
As a secretary for Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson, Karen Page became Daredevil's true love. At one stage she, along with the lawyers Foggy Nelson and Matt Murdock, was kidnapped by the Masked Marauder and the Stilt-Man. While aboard the Masked Marauder's helicopter, believing Matt was falling to his death, she attacked the super-villain. Once it was revealed that he was in fact the landlord of the law firm that she worked for (Nelson and Murdock) he asked her to remove his mask. Daredevil then clipped the Marauder and he fell into his own death device
Howard is an extremely beautiful girl that has acting chops to back her up. She looks like the girl next door but still holds intelligence. In this movie she would be like a Lois Lane character. An outspoken woman that would but heads with Murdock while secretly holding a crush for him.
Tahmoh Penikett as Zebediah Killgrave/Purple Man
Zebediah Killgrave was born in Rijeka, in what was at the time Yugoslavia and is now in Croatia. As an international spy, he was sent to infiltrate a chemical refinery. During the mission, he was accidentally doused with a chemical that turned his hair and skin purple. Caught outright and questioned, Killgrave offered a weak, inadequate alibi to his captors. Much to his surprise, he was believed and released. Several more incidents of this nature demonstrated that the nerve gas had given Killgrave the superhuman ability to command the wills of other people. Calling himself the Purple Man, Killgrave embarked on a criminal career.
Penikett is a real cool tough actor that would be great for this role. Aside from being tough, he could also give off a menacing creepiness that would cause tension in all his scenes. In this movie he would be a mob boss going against Kingpin. He would of course have to be purple, and he would kill anyone who asked him about his color. He would use his mind control powers to keep the police in his pocket, and keep his henchmen on his side with little pay. He would not reveal what happened to him until he decides to do the same to Jessica Jones.
Eliza Dushku as Jessica Jones
Introduced in the Marvel Universe as a retcon character, Midtown High student Jessica Campbell was present when Peter Parker was bitten by the irradiated spider that gave him his powers. She had a crush on him, and had just plucked up the courage to speak to him when he was distracted by the bite. She also had a celebrity crush on teen heart-throb Johnny Storm.Soon thereafter, Jessica was riding in a car with her family when they collided with a military convoy carrying radioactive chemicals. Her family was killed and, after spending several months in a coma, she was placed in foster care and adopted by the Jones family. Months later she awoke, stirred by the first coming of Galactus outside her hospital room.
Dushku is sexy, bad ass, and perfect for this role. She could show the tough fighting woman, and the damaged girl that is under the thumb of Purple Man. In this movie she would be a slave to Purple Man. After noticing Daredevil’s interest in the girl, he exposes her to the same radiation that turned him purple. Then using his mind control he uses her to attack Daredevil.
Vin Diesel as Gladiator
Melvin Potter was a costume designer who decided to become a professional criminal. He designed a suit of battle armor for himself, complete with deadly wrist blades, and became known as the Gladiator. He battled Daredevil in his first criminal outing, and then met the Masked Marauder, another enemy of Daredevil's. Gladiator later appeared in Europe, where he fought Daredevil again, and was then invited to join the Maggia. He joined Electro's Emissaries of Evil to attack Daredevil again. Later, Gladiator aided Whitney Frost in a raid of Stark Enterprises, where he first fought Iron Man.
He looks exactly like Gladiator and he would easily pull off the role. In this movie he would serve as a henchmen to Purple Man, but Daredevil defeats him after a big battle across roof tops.
Michael Chiklis as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin
While Fisk was a powerful crime lord, he posed as a legitimate businessman, one who made donations to charities, and seemed like a generous, wealthy man. He eventually met a woman named Vanessa, whom he married and had a son with, Richard Fisk. Vanessa did not know that Fisk was a criminal when she married him, and when she found out, she threatened to leave him if he did not give up his life of crime. He temporarily retired from crime, and the family moved back to Japan, until the existing New York gangs lured him back to New York in hopes of getting files he was known to have which on the various high ranking individuals which contained "irrefutable evidence of various crimes" against them.
I’m not extremely adamant about this role, so if you have a better choice just say it and try to change my mind. Chikilis was great in the Shield and I would want him to act the same way in this movie. To the public he would be a very clean business man while secretly being one of the greatest crime lords of all time. But in this movie he would just serve as the opposing force to Purple Man, and would only have a small confrontation with Daredevil at the end that would lead into the sequel. Chikilis would be perfect to to show a cool calm and collected side yet still be frightening and intense when necessary.
So that’s my cast for a Daredevil movie. I hope you enjoyed it. Read the descriptions for details on how the characters would factor into the movie. So sound off below.
