A long time ago, in our own galaxy; there was an open world Flash game in development. Unfortunately, it was cancelled. The game was being developed by developer BottleRocket Entertainment. The reason it never saw the light of day was because their publisher, Brash Entertainment, went out of business in November 2008. Looking at the concept art, this looks like a game every Flash fan would love. The art shows characters like Flash, Kid Flash, Impulse, Captain Cold, Weather Wizard, Gorilla Grodd, and his army.
The story to the game was being fleshed out, at the time, by DC Comics legend Marv Wolfman. The story would revolve around Professor Zoom and Gorilla Grodd teaming up and creating devices that they planted around the city. The devices were activated anytime Flash used the speed force around them. When activated they sucked the surrounding inhabitants into the speed force dimension. Flash was going to be forced to go into the speed dimension to face Zoom and free them. They were trying to cram in as many of Flash’s rogues as they could. Villains like Captain Cold, Weather Wizard, The Top, Captain Boomerang, Mirror Master, etc. The story would also deal with smaller side stories featuring other Flash villains. Think of it like
Batman: Arkham City where the main story villains are Joker, Hugo Strange, Penguin, Two-Face, Ra’s al Ghul and Mr. Freeze and the side stories focused on Bane, Mad Hatter, Hush, Zsasz, Deadshot, and others.
Take a look at some of the concept art and the video below. Now before you watch the video, remember that the game was just in production for 6 months. It was never finished or never polished up because it didn’t get released. What are your thoughts? Comment below. Peace.
