In an effort to generate more money Sony CEO Howard Stringer is throwing the S as they say and nixing any 3D plans for "Spider-Man 4". This from Marketsaw:
"SPIDER-MAN 4 Not In 3D Afterall? MEN IN BLACK IS? Sony CEO Howard Stringer stuck his neck out against the tide of 3D as his company ramps 3D in just about every feasible way. While he was at an electronics company's headquarters on Thursday he elaborated (From AP): Stringer said he didn't think the next "Spider-Man" sequel would be in 3-D either, but a 3-D version of "Men in Black" was being considered. It was unclear what titles in Sony's extensive film library might be reissued in 3-D, he added."
So out with the new in with the old? Who hires these people?
I am going to go see Spider-Man 4, along with everyone I know on this site except for probably Multi, regardless if it is in 3D or not. Although I will say I just saw "A Christmas Carol" in 3D at the Portage IMAX theater and it was awesome. The special effects rocked and all I could think of was how cool it would be to watch "Spider-Man 4" or "Iron Man 2" in 3D. Oh well, Sony changed that because their margin for Spider-Man 4 would be 55 gazillion dollars instead of 56, so go ahead and fix that right now. Hopefully this yahoo has no influence at all on the script of "Spider-Man 4".
What do you peeps think? Vote yes for a 3D version, vote No for a regular release.
