Spider-Man 4 Not To Be In 3D!

Spider-Man 4 Not To Be In 3D!

Sony CEO Howard Stringer says that it is not to be. But the first "Men in Black" will be re released in 3D? How does this make any sense?

In an effort to generate more money Sony CEO Howard Stringer is throwing the S as they say and nixing any 3D plans for "Spider-Man 4". This from Marketsaw:

"SPIDER-MAN 4 Not In 3D Afterall? MEN IN BLACK IS? Sony CEO Howard Stringer stuck his neck out against the tide of 3D as his company ramps 3D in just about every feasible way. While he was at an electronics company's headquarters on Thursday he elaborated (From AP): Stringer said he didn't think the next "Spider-Man" sequel would be in 3-D either, but a 3-D version of "Men in Black" was being considered. It was unclear what titles in Sony's extensive film library might be reissued in 3-D, he added."

So out with the new in with the old? Who hires these people?

I am going to go see Spider-Man 4, along with everyone I know on this site except for probably Multi, regardless if it is in 3D or not. Although I will say I just saw "A Christmas Carol" in 3D at the Portage IMAX theater and it was awesome. The special effects rocked and all I could think of was how cool it would be to watch "Spider-Man 4" or "Iron Man 2" in 3D. Oh well, Sony changed that because their margin for Spider-Man 4 would be 55 gazillion dollars instead of 56, so go ahead and fix that right now. Hopefully this yahoo has no influence at all on the script of "Spider-Man 4".

What do you peeps think? Vote yes for a 3D version, vote No for a regular release.

3D is better in animated movies IMO or gimmicky horror movies - I'd rather see a Spider-Man movie that focuses on good story and direction rather than scenes specially made so it jumps out of the screen at you! :)

Is 3D a nessecity now? I think they should focus on making a better story than they had in Spidey 3. Who cares about 3D.....

Yeah, I'm not a fan of 3D. Not so much, anyway, that I believe it has to be in every goram movie nowadays. This is how movies should be done: Good Story. Good director. Good actors. Good communication between actors and director. Good editing. Good special f/x. The rest is fluff and polish. And that includes 3D.

Anyway SPIDEY 4 will probably be out on 3D after months of release just to get the whole lot back again to re-see it, well it could happen lol.

Can you imagine Kirsten Dunst's face in 3D? Twelve stories of snaggle teeth and protruding cheek bone popping off the screen at you? No thanks. They're doing us a favor.

3D sucks, I saw the Dark Knight and Superman Returns in 3D at an Imax and it was too distracting.

I don't mind 3-D for certain films like A Christmas Carol or Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, but 3-D Superhero Movies?
Not really.

Forget 3D! It wouldn't improve the movie any! What everyone should be focusing on is a good storyline and good choice of villains! I'm hoping for two villains. Preferably the Lizard and Morbius!

I think spidey wouldve been good for 3d. He's spiderman, he's already going to be swooping at the camera anyway so it wont seem too set up. Why not?

I gotta chime in on this. Yes a good director, actors, story and sound quality make good movies. But let's be realistic here, the quality of picture is always, always improving and is very important. Just because they attempted to make 3-D movies and failed 20 years ago (and failed doesn't mean they shouldn't keep trying). Look at the television for instance, would you rather see a movie or football game in 2009 quality (1080p flat screen 42in.) or would you rather see it in 1989 quailty (30in. analog television). One last nugget Imax is working on movies that appear like real life (how you see). So don't hate on 3-D it only gets better and you know you wanna see movies with the best picture quality available.

Who gives a shit about 3D? [frick] 3D. All I want is a good script, good plot, and kristin Dunst replaced (or killed off) out of the next movie.

As long as its HD or in IMAX...I can careless about 3D
