OH YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! ; )

I thought it was more than 25 minutes though! : (

Still,,, can't wait!!!

This is why DC is better than MARVEL!!!

for some reason I heard a bunch of people thinking an additional 40 minutes was going to be added - but I think that was just the addition of the Black Freightor for the 'extended edition' which won't be out for a while.

I could care less - an additional 25 mins is awesome considering it contains an additional awesome plotline. I could probably do without the extended edition anyways since the cartoon although pretty good - seems like it would take away from the film - especially since the additional 25 mins being added already makes this puppy over 3 plus hours.

Keven - 5/13/2009, 2:07 PM
Yeah Keven @ your right! An over 3 hours sounds sweet to me too!!! ; )

A Movie Masterpiece.
LEEE777 - 5/13/2009, 2:11 PM
WE GONNA SEE THE SQUID?
GUNSMITH - 5/13/2009, 2:14 PM
Nope, no calamari in this bad boy. It will be more Rorschach, Nite Owl and the whole Hollis Mason sub plot..woohoo!
Rorschach01 - 5/13/2009, 2:27 PM
cant wait and no there will not be a squid
tyko450 - 5/13/2009, 2:41 PM
I'm game. -hrmmmm-
adamant877 - 5/13/2009, 2:42 PM
sounds good
vanillabear - 5/13/2009, 3:05 PM
Good I was wondering were Hollis Mason's death scene was.

longbowhunter - 5/13/2009, 3:10 PM
apparently Nite Owl gets revenge after Hollis dies as well - something Snyder added in. Which I think is great - the death in the book was too depressing - I think closure makes it more interesting. Especially since there's depression overload happening right after that part anyways.
Keven - 5/13/2009, 3:51 PM
i could be wrong - but during some B-Roll footage it showed Nite Owl throwing down on the top knots in some extreme rage - this time in the costume. So although it deviates from the source - I could care less. I actually like the movie more than the book anyways.

blasphemous I know - but the book is dated now and the movie makes the story seem relevant for some reason.
Keven - 5/13/2009, 3:53 PM
Didnt that happen in the book too? He starts to beat the crap out of the guy to get info on Hollis death, but he goes so far even Rorschach is shocked
Rorschach01 - 5/13/2009, 4:21 PM
I would love to buy this...but I hate it when they release a great movie as this...and than a year from today they release even a better version. "THE ULTIMATE WATCHMAN EDITON" comes with never seen footage...blah blah blah....I hate that. Like what they did with bladerunner, or a year later what they did with "I am Legend."....special limited editions and crap. its like just give it to us all now...stop making all these editions damn lol
Aiiwolf - 5/13/2009, 4:50 PM
Additional footage, eh? Anything that gives us more Rorschach sounds good to me. Hollis Mason's death also belongs in the film. I do wish we were getting an "alternate ending" with the squid.
comicb00kguy - 5/13/2009, 4:52 PM
Definitely getting the director's cut.
Bandrews1 - 5/13/2009, 4:59 PM
most of these special features sound like filler but thats ok i just want the movie on dvd. looking forward to the hm death scene. a visual effects breakdown featuette would have been nice.
grif - 5/13/2009, 6:00 PM
Ror: That's the way I remember it anyways.
And I have to agree with Keven, I liked Snyder's updates and the liberties that were taken! It made the story more poignant, and less convoluted.

(I bet Hyson's brain is exploding with rage right now! lol)
adamant877 - 5/13/2009, 6:10 PM
Darthstern: Nic Cage for Hyson's exploding brain!
adamant877 - 5/13/2009, 6:11 PM
This is worth waiting at Walmart till midnight for haha.
CaptainAmazing - 5/13/2009, 6:15 PM
So.....where's the one with Black Freighter?
TucsonRican - 5/13/2009, 6:42 PM
That ones probably near christmas @ TucsonRican @ ; )
LEEE777 - 5/13/2009, 9:02 PM
25 mins of more shite! woo hoo! its probably only 5 mins but snyder used super slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow motion to amke it seem more! HA!
wards - 5/14/2009, 5:40 AM
Now the studios are kind of dismissing the DVD format, in order to people to get the new one, the Blu Ray..

..well, it is called Merchandising right? hehe.
---
About the Ultimate Blade Runner edition on DVD, yeah, i saw it last weekend in stores, with A LOT O NEW extras, just like the new Ultimate James Bond collection on DVD... they offer the best possible edition EVER.. just to re-start from the bottom with another format
-

that means that in 5 years, the Blu-Ray standard editions will have only one or 2 additional "bonus", and also we´ll have that Ultimate Watchmen Edition in Blu Ray...and then BANG! they will diss that format and we´ll have to get used to the new one: THE RAINBOW -RAY FORMAT! lol haha!
SirJediFrank - 5/14/2009, 8:00 AM
I'm waiting for the boxed set on this. The director's cut and Black Freighter.
SirPrize - 5/14/2009, 8:06 AM
dc my be better but marvel has more movie's dude
Marvel Rules - 5/14/2009, 1:46 PM
hey 'wards' - there wasn't too much slow mo in Watchmen - leave the Snyder bashing at the door - the guy ended up making a movie that in my oppinion is better than the book. i read the book once - but I'll be watching the movie multiple times - that's how I know he did a good job.

i don't think some of us appreciate how goddamn amazing this movie really was.

@ ror - was that really in the book with Owl trying to find out about Hollis? I don't remember - been a long time since I read it. Does he ever find the actual guy who kills Hollis? For some reason I thought it went unresolved.

Whatever though - I'm just stoked for more footage. Did I mention that Watchmen was fanfluckingtastic?
Keven - 5/14/2009, 2:46 PM
More movies should do this, so I don't buy it to find a year later that there is a better dvd with more footage
Evil1991 - 5/14/2009, 3:11 PM
WHo gives a cut turd! HAhahah j/k
Betty - 5/14/2009, 9:34 PM

LEEE777 - 5/15/2009, 1:04 PM

Logan-X - 5/15/2009, 3:20 PM
HURM
Instantclassic - 5/15/2009, 6:31 PM
kEVEN YOUR a dooche bag... the [frick]ing movie is better than the book. you my friend have not tooken the careful time to fully evaluate and appreciate what the Watchmen is with a statement like that. basically snyder took the book stayed about 75% true to the material and and then added about his own 5% and basically shit the other 20% out the window and is trying to sway us with an extra 25 mins of footage. It better be good. I was completely disappointed in the movie for various reasons( I.E. acting was horrible, silk spectre made out to be a whore, dan was a bitch and didnt have the emotional range of the character in the book, ozymandias was a complete waste in my opinion, so many good lines and scenes in the book, and he barely had a presence in the book. i felt like he only made his self in the end), but i can say the ending was well done from the scene where "All Along the Watchtower" came on to the credits, even if the ending was radically different. But I just dont see how this film can even measure up to what the Novel was. its just not possible

da2213viking - 5/15/2009, 6:47 PM
why so much hate on the movie? the movie was good, and in my OPINION... better than the dark knight's story, but both movies are good. Rorshach's protrayl was better, or just as good as Joker's protrayl. this movie is so far the best of the year. salvation and x-men are just action movies with no story.
kyle dalton - 6/7/2009, 7:59 PM
i am personally really stoked for the dvd release. in the meantime i will just keep listening to the soundtrack, check out this cool preview for it:
