Hugh Jackman Says The Wolverine 2 Wheels Are A Turning!

Let's hope this time around they spend a little more time on the special effects and a little less time on the movies creative writing.

Hugh Jackman accepted the Teen Choice Award for Best action/adventure film this past weekend. While he accepted the award Jackman states:

"Who knows, maybe Wolverine will use one of these when he heads to Japan," Jackman told the crowd, holding up the surfboard that served as the award. "See you next time around!"

While back stage Hugh Jackmen commented further:

"The 'going to Japan' was pretty serious, the 'using the surfboard' was not. Not a lot of surfing in Japan," laughed Jackman.

Hopefully they do have the story for Wolverine 2 set in Japan. That way they won't have the opportunity (except for Lady Deathstrike)to mess up any of the other X-Men. It would be nice to see a Wolverine film about only Wolverine.

	If they went with something like the suit he wears in X Force at the moment it could look ok..but then you would still have the fanboys screaming for the yellow spandex! 	I use to like the old yellow and black and orange and brown suit... But I think the one that will pull it all off is Logans new "X_FORCE" black and grey suit. The mask is different and if they cut the points down (even tho i like it) it will seem more realistic vs comicbookish. If he gets trained by ninjas and dones a costume this can explain his suit. the way they illustrate Wolverine in this series remind me of the Rob Liefields knock off wolverine named Deadlock...a dead villian working for the government. 	@ LEEE777 You’re damn right. Hopefully, Fox will have a total epiphany and they should try to make a good Wolverine sequel after their less than good X3 and Wolverine 1. Because this is their last chance, if this movie sucks, I hate to say it but REBOOT TIME! Also, it needs a new good director and writers! I would like to see it being released in 2012, that would rock alongside the Avengers and hopefully, an Incredible Hulk 2! @ Ozymandias I don’t know if they will ever make an X4 because it will cost too much money to make. Why don’t they get Bryan Singer back and he can direct X4 and X5 back to back to save on costs and they can end the main X franchise with a double whammy of Mr Sinister and Apocalypse to end the franchise the way it is supposed to end. Then they can tackle a Days of Future Past movie, young X-Men prequels and a Magneto prequel. @GUNSMITH I am one of the first people to say it was great there was no brightly coloured spandex in the any of the X-Men movies so far but you’re damn right that Wolverine should have his brown and orange suit in the next movie. I think it would look bloody ridiculous if he was training as a samurai and he was wearing his typical vest, leather jacket and jeans. His usual outfit should only appear at the beginning and end of the movie and in between he should wear a more realistic version of his samurai suit so we will at least get to see it for one movie. And talking about spandex, in the upcoming X-Men prequel they should wear suits closer to their comic counterparts and have it that they wore these as teenagers and young adults and then they changed to their leather suits when they started to get older. Hugh Jackman is awesome though! I hope he plays Wolvie in a X4 & X5 (with a smaller but equally badass role) and a Days of Future Past movie. 	New director for the next one, Gavin Hood, who was supposed to be a character director, show very little in the character department and cant do anything with a budget over $1000. 	New and better writers. Lauren Shuler Donner takes a leap off a pier. FOX sells the rights to Wolverine back to Marvel Studios - then we will get a Wolverine movie worthy of the character and its fans. If a suit is to be done, his brown and tans. Best ever. It doesn't have to be spandex, they can modernize the material. sort of like they do with the costume designs over at the Marvel Ultimate Alliance camp. His Japan stuff is definitely good story telling but FOX will screw it up. Mariko will be a mutant, Silver Samurai's costume will be adamantium. 	Though the last movie was lacking, I really am rooting for Jackman. He seems like a really nice guy in a market full of pricks. And he's enthusiastic about the role. I think they need a better story, one where they're not trying to create roles for potential spin-offs. 	I have to say only Bryan Singer has a shot at saving this franchise. "Wolverine" was terrible and made very little sense. The focus was off and everything felt forced. Hugh is Wolverine, but I'd rather see another "Van Helsing." At least that "franchise" doesn't have to make sense. As far as the costume goes, the Ultimate Wolverine garb would be best. 	It's FOX and L.S.Donner, toning it down would be the last thing on their walnuts. They'll just phone it in with more mutants and bigger explosions. The first two X-films are not without their flaws but so far, Singer is the only one who has proven to work successfully around FOX, Donner and their bullshit. 	I agree Wolverine could have been better, okay a whole lot better but if the second movie is done in Japan then maybe a Samurai Story, something along the lines of the Last Samurai. He's in Japan learning to be a samurai. Wolverine is a deep character with a lot of problems and they should explore his inner conflicts and the reasons why he does what he does. 	@ durkinknight that's the problem with wolvie in comics these days, he's just TOO powerful and unkillable. he didn't used to be like that, with or without the adamantium. over the years, different writers just went overboard and made him totally unkillable. now he can't even get drunk in the comics. back in frank miller's run, he got hit with poisoned ninja stars and he was unconscious for a long time. that would never happen now. now you have him getting caught in explosions that burn everything away except his skeleton and he's ready to fight in 5 minutes, its a shame too, because wolvie really did USED to be an amazing character, now he's just ridiculous...and lame...and over used. and answer me this, he's supposed to be the ultimate loner, yet he's on two teams, the x-men and the avengers...does that sound like a loner?? lol gimme cyclops anyday, he's way more interesting than wolvie CorndogBurglar - 8/11/2009, 7:20 AM

	I did enjoy Wolverine however, they tried to fit to many coool characters in ... i.e. how long have we waited for Gambit ... Anyway Sunfire doesn't do martial arts right?? As a matter of fact I think he's the only Asian character that has superpowers and doesn't do martial arts.
