Rampage Jackson IS In Fact Playing BA Baracus!

And he pities the fool!!

This from Latino Review:

"Jackson has been removed from the UFC 107 card where he was set to face Sugar Rashad Evans in an Ultimate Fighter finale showdown, so he can appear in the film. He was spotted on Robson Street Friday afternoon, signing autographs for fans.

Jackson will be in Vancouver shooting the film for the next six weeks."

So now it looks like Rampage Jackson is in fact going to play BA Baracus. Like I said in an earlier article I thought this was a perfect casting choice to play the role that Mr. T made famous.

Enough with the bloody remakes. I know hollywood has run out of ideas but come on.

superdog - 9/8/2009, 7:35 AM
this whole premise is ridiculous

lee777@ act? pretty sure mr. t is not a shakesperean trained actor. and its not like BA is a major powerehouse emotional character with deep seeded pain and intelectual pineings. he just beats people up.
TheNameIsBetty
TheNameIsBetty - 9/8/2009, 7:39 AM
why couldnt Mr. T do it with a cgi update? is he dead? lol. there's plenty of other people with potential to be him. what about eddie murphy? after all, they made robert downey jr. a black guy.
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 9/8/2009, 7:46 AM
FARTMAN??? MR T is doing candy adverts? He's alive an well, hell he don't look much different lol.

lol LEEE777, in that case why can't he just play the part again...unless he doesn't want to. i guess he pities the fool who thinks he wants to play again (cheesy joke #1 on this forum)

I just saw Mr. T this morning selling that glass bowl oven contraption. Its this hilarious infomercial that starts off with him kicking the studio door down.

I cant believe this movie is getting made. I hate these old t.v. show movie remakes.
JaySchluffy
JaySchluffy - 9/8/2009, 7:55 AM
@ Fartman. Hell if they can make a CGI Arnie there shouldnt be any problem getting the T to do it. And BA is just one of those roles where Mr T IS BA. Having someone else going through the motions and the lines will just feel wrong.
superdog
superdog - 9/8/2009, 8:09 AM
longbow@ i agree. sometimes things dont need updated. they only worked cause it was the right time right place. when you take them out of that time and place it doesnt work so well.

sirpize@ im sorry

I honestly wish they'd just leave this one alone. You can't replace the one and only Mr. T.

The TV show was pathetic, epitomising everything that made 80's US television sooo piss poor. This piece of fluff looks like it will continue in that tradition. Can't wait
superdog
superdog - 9/8/2009, 8:29 AM
michael@ 80's t.v. was awesome. but thats my point, the only reason they worked is cause it was the 80's. miami vice, knight rider, a-team, the only reason those shows were great was cause they fit in perfectly with the time. when you do them in todays time they wont work.
TheJester

Uh, wtf...with the Ultimate Fighter Starting sept 16th Evans and Jackson as coaches, kimbo slice....107 is going to be huge.

I am shocked Dana pushed the event back.....

longbowhunter
longbowhunter - 9/8/2009, 8:47 AM
Hell yeah, Superdog television in the 80's was great. I was a big A-Team fan. Even had the B.A. Baracus doll! It seems like nothing on t.v. today can really capture that tounge in cheek feel. What I cant stand are these dime a dozen, cookie cutter dramas.
MICHAELSIX
MICHAELSIX - 9/8/2009, 8:59 AM
Sorry boys but 80's TV was deeply shit. I guess it's an age thing, if Í too had been 5 or 6 then perhaps they would not have been so laughable. I was in my late teens by '87 and to me it was purile. You're fondness of that era is based entirely on your impressionable age. I have exactly the same thing with Music.

Trivia question:

What was Mr. T's first appearance on TV ?

Don't use the internet to find out.
superdog
superdog - 9/8/2009, 9:13 AM
michael@ i was in my teens in the 80's and loved the stuff. i would hope that 5 year olds were not watching A-team since it was on late and pretty violent for its time. so it is not "based entirely on my impressionable age". some people liked the shows, just deal with it. if you didnt it must have been a boring decade for you.

MarkCassidy - 9/8/2009, 9:16 AM
Mmmmm, dunno!

This will surprise me if its any good. Cooper as Faceman? The guy looks like a frigging rat. Neeson as Hannible? I love Neeson and all but that is not good casting. It should have been someone like Kurt Russel or even Dennis Quaid(well maybe not after GI Joke)
longbowhunter
longbowhunter - 9/8/2009, 9:24 AM
No SirPrize this was a doll straight up. Hollow rubber head, polyester duds, and gold plastic chains. Sort of like the old MEGO toys.

MICHEALSIX, I enjoyed the laughable qualities of t.v. from 20 plus years ago. Thats my whole point. Alot of t.v. today takes itself too seriously. You are right about one thing. I was about 5 or 6 in the heyday of 80's t.v., but I was smart enough to pick up on the fact it was corny at times.
Joe6Pack74
Joe6Pack74 - 9/8/2009, 9:26 AM
I hope it is good, GI Joe ruled! A-team hopefully will be done right. Perhaps with a little of the vietnam backstory. Next they need to make a Riptide movie. I would like to see a CGI version of that orange robot.

Don't like the cast at all, not one bit. Whoever the casting agent for this movie is should be dropped on his/her head a few times. Here goes another good tv show getting raped by hollywood.

gi joe sucked. this one probably will too. so be it.
ASSASSIN666
ASSASSIN666 - 9/8/2009, 9:47 AM
On another note how in the hell with Ultimate Fighter being so hyped this year because of Kimbo, and the heavyweights can Dana White allow this??? I know he's smart enough to have a signed contract for this fight, so what the f**k?
Talontd
Talontd - 9/8/2009, 9:47 AM
Hahaha......NICE. If anyone else on here follows the UFC, then you know RAMPAGE is MADE for this!!! His personality is built for the big screen, and he'll have no qualms playing an extremely imposing, herculean dude. Trust me this is good news.

ROR-

I can see COOPER as face, but like you (even with his extraordinary acting ability) i think LIAM NEESON was miscast. Don't see HANNIBAL there.......at all!
