This looks like it's going to be like the first one.
Really cool and interesting to look at and watch, but everything else (acting, writing) will BLOW. Seriously, I winced a few times.
"They're calling me."
Whoa! Are you alright?"
But then again, the acting and writing (dialogue wise) was pretty bad in Silent Hill 3.

I think that the only movie that had a chance of being really good in general instead of just a really good video game movie is Assassins Creed. Deus Ex could be really good movie too if done right.

I really enjoyed the first one, I'm looking forward to the sequel but I'm confused, I thought that chick in the purple found peace or something? I guess she's still tearing shit up.

Sean Bean was the character from the first game in the first film (which was a prequel to first game) folks.
I wish they would have left that story alone and gone in a different direction with this.

@ UncleJimmy
I know. They need to make a Sent Hill movie with a character that wasn't in any of the games. That's what makes these video game movies so bad. They just try to throw things in there that the fans will recognize from the game itself. Have a different and unique interpretation of Silent Hill. Have a different Otherworld (like how Downpour's Otherworld wasn't just rust, but actually reflected the main character's worst fears). Have a new character. Have new monsters that were never in any of th Silent Hill games, but still tie into the main character and reflect him/her. Have a new plot line that wasn't in any of them games. Make the film almost a spiritual successor to the game series. Keep the game's ideas and spirit, but create something new with those ideas. It could be awesome. Nerds/fans of a movie's source material can be VERY ignorant when it comes to the movie itself.
A FAITHFUL movie doesn't mean it's a GOOD movie.
Would you rather have a good video game movie (even though video game movies have very, very, VERY low standards), or would you rather have a good movie I'm general? Source material should be there for inspiration, it shouldn't interfere with your ideas/creativity.

looks like this is based off of Silent Hill 3, which sucks because 2 is the best SH story IMO.. Although 3 does follow the events of the 1st game, so it does make a little more sense as a sequel.

It will never reach the creepiness of the second game... I've never seen anything as disturbing as the mannequins being raped by Pyramid Head while you were watching from a closet. Nothing will ever come close on film.

I am not much a Silent Hill fan after playing th 4th game as the Series went downhill for me after the 4th game. The first film was ok,this one looks good they got Ned Stark, Jon Snow, Trinity and Metallo (as Malcom Malcom McDowell voiced Metallo in DCAU).

I believe they took elements from the 3rd game as certain characters from the 3rd game are this one. Still looks good.

I really don't know anything about the overall franchise, but is this who was the little girl from the first movie?
Thanson
Thanson - 7/27/2012, 2:29 PM
No, the girl in Silent Hill was Jodelle Ferland. She is a very good young actress who turns 18 later this year. She was just in Cabin In The Woods. Too bad she isn't coming back because this girl looks NOTHING like her.

Couldn't they have just made Sean Bean the main character? What's with the blonde female lead in these movies?
