Crush Casts Batman's Badguys

Crush Casts Batman's Badguys

Since reading on CBM that Warner Brothers plans on making like a thousand more Batman movies I couldn't help myself from thinking of a few actors that could take on the role's of The Dark Knight's famous villains.

First to anyone that go's on site's like CBM just to laugh it up & make fun of people, get a life, seriously I mean to start you are on a site dedicated to comic books & comic book movies, next you have obviously searched & sorted through articals that are labeled "fan-fic" or "casting choices" then you want to call us "geeks" & "nerds" lol, you are funny little things...go ahead and call us nerds but I doubt anyone here thinks that your Mr.COOL....or wait a minute, you are Mr Cool and you only go on comic book websites when your not getting laid right ? & you wear a leather jacket & smoke cigarettes & your a quarterback & all of your girlfriends are super models & your rich & you ride a motorcycle &......Eat a shit sandwich and go to hell, you seriously have nazi blood pulsing through your vain's, I mean you hate people you don't know & for no reason at all...we enjoy doing this stuff & you don't so leave it at that....I mean we don't show up to your house and tell you how ugly your girlfriend is or how shitty your babysitting job is or how dirty your clothes are....don't make me come to your place and Fu*k your mother right in front of you while wearing a Superman cape 'cause I will.

Let's talk about Batman now shall we, lol, Bats has always been one of my favourite comic book characters, 'cause he's "badass" for a lack of better words & much like my favourite hero Spiderman, Bats has a long list of famous badguys I mean besides Batman & Spiderman nobody has as many popular villains, some even have spin-off comics/movies(joker,venom,catwoman,carnage,bane,black cat etc.)we just love 'em, & so if DC & Marvel each want one character to always have a movie out in the tradition of James Bond movies,it's Bats & Spidey because of all of their villains.

Look I love the movies that take the realistic route but I would also like to see some of Batman's villans that are considered not "realistic" I don't want to see anthing corny, but I know it would be hard to write some guys into the script. The fact is the dynamic duo of Nolan & Bale will probibly "bale out" after one more movie maybe two, then the Batman franchise will start over fresh...who will direct? Zack Snyder? Michael Bay? Frank Miller? and who will play Bruce Wayne? Brandon Routh? Mark Wahlberg? Bruce Willis(as the old DK) I don't know and I don't want to go there(I'll save that for Shaman) but what Crush will do is cast my favourite Batman Badguys with some awesome actors, as always constructive criticism is welcomed...but if you just want to diss me you better be ready for war, you feel me?... anways enjoy !

Rosario Dawson as Catwoman:
Look just because they F'd up the Catwoman movie dosen't mean she shouldnt make a come back in a Batman movie, first as his enemy then as his love interest. Catwoman is sexy & atheletic, she needs to be played by someone that could bring a strong performence, Rosario is the beautiful actress I've selected just check her out in Sin City or Seven pounds she plays a wide range of roles.(and she's HOT)

Steve Buscemi as The Riddler:
I don't think I have to explain myself with this one.

Adrian Brody as Black Mask & Jason Schwartzman as The Penguin:
I cast these two together because they would need eachother, Black Mask & Penguin could not hold down a Batman movie alone, plus Penguin is more of a bossman & not a fighter, Black Mask is like a hitman he would be taking orders from someone else, even he's not much of a physical threat but he's a shooter & he has henchmen. Brody is a great actor that could get real dark & cold blooded for this role & for those of you that don't like his face well he'd be wearing make-up/cgi giving him his black skull for most of the movie. Schwartzman as The Penguin is actually my favourite casting call, he's an oddball that is short & just look at that nose...plus he always plays weird characters, again lots of make-up and he would be perfect, your probibly thinking he's too young, well take this into consideration Jack Nicholson was like 50 when he played the Joker & Ledger was like 30,same deal Devito was like 45-50 when he was the Penguin & Schwartzman is 30. or just look at it like the Penguin had to be young at one point.

Crispin Glover as Mr.Freeze:
Crispin Glover is cold 'nuff said.....(n)ice pick for freeze.

Viggo Mortensen as The Joker & Megan Fox as Harley Quinn:
Viggo is insane just watch A History of Violence or Eastern Promises if you don't think he has what it takes & Harley Quinn is Jokers young, sexy, crazy slave, not to far of a stretch for Foxxy.Plus Joker & Quinn have to be in a movie together.

Brock Lesnar as Bane:
They made Bane look stupid in "batman & robin" alot of people really like Bane me included,He broke Batman's back !!now I know that people don't like when atheletes or musicians act but in my opinion most people can act if coached right, I mean it's not rocket science.Bane's not shakespeare plus Lesnar has already done some minor acting in WWE.

Here are a few others that I will elaborate on later(I have to stop,I've got a short attention span)

Emily Blunt as Poison Ivy

Kevin Grevioux as Killer Croc

Mickey Rourke as ClayFace

Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Deadshot

& Doug Jones as Man-Bat (just imagine doug, tall & lanky with a bat head & giant wings)

u know u have some good ideas, but i have said in the past i dont know what the big deal is with rosario dawson. also steve buscemi and viggo as though characters dont seem to work for me. I mean i like buscemi, he does have that look of sinisterness but i have to give that role to depp. like he is perfect for it. and as far as joker i dont think there can be anyone to replace what heath did. i mean viggo just doesnt have the same look as heath did and it will be hard to accept him anytime soon as the joker. maybe in like 5 more movies we can get a new person to take over but if they have him as a main character in the next movie it will be pretty hard to accept whoever is casted. i do really like ur idea of Brock Lesnar as Bane (even though i think Brock is a complete tool and does not deserve the heavy weight title). and i really like Megan Fox as Harley just because i would like to see Megan Fox more on the screen since she is sexy as hell. and also i like ur croc pick of kevin grevioux. so keep up the good work and we will have to see how the joker is casted.

Crush, i actually have to commend you on a few of your choices here :)

Rosario Dawson would be a kick ass Catwoman. She might not be the hottest thing on two legs but i still find her hot. She's a good actress as well and would do the part justice after the berry fiasco.

You're best cast is by far Jason Schwartzman as Penguin! I think he'd be perfect and i honestly couldn't give a shit of his age. It would actually demonstrate his superior intelect which can't be taught and would also explain how he got to be where he is.

Doug Jones would be the perfect Man-Bat! Jeffrey Dean Morgan would of course be a stellar pick for deadshot! Kevin Grevioux as Killer Croc is a given!

I'm not really found of Emily Blunt, which is why i'm not to ecstatic about her being Black Widow but she would actually be a waaayyy better poison ivy! Very good call on that one!!!

As much as i love Mickey Rourke, it would all depend on where they would go with Clayface's character. If they go with the "naturally disfigured actor" then he'd be the best pic possible. If they go with the "Aged and washed up actor (like the animated series)", Terry O'Quinn would be the best possible pick.

Penguin's age doesn't matter but Black Mask's does. He was actually Bruce's childhood friend and would have to at least look like he's in the same generation as the actor who plays Batman. Brody's a good actor and could pull it off but they would have to make him look the part. You wanted to leave it up to me and here it is! BATMAN should be played by none other than ADRIAN PASDAR! But this isn't the place to debate it. If you guys are interested, here's the link where you can do that as well as debate the rest of the Justice League:

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/MySecretIdentityPick/news/?a=6223

Brock is just god awfull and no matter how "big" he is, he never looks menacing enough. His idea of a menacing face is "i need to take a crap bad!!!". He's good enough for the ring but in a movie, facial expressions are a must! I honestly can't see anyone else than Nathan Jones as Bane!

Viggo is the most talented actor up there and if someone can pull off a version of the Joker we've never seen, Viggo can!!! It is waaayyy to soon to even consider him but he's none the less a great pic.

Your worst pic in all of this is Meagan Fox. She has NOTHING to offer this character!!! Harley should be just as deranged as Joker! Fox has yet to crack a different "emotion" or facial expression than what you actually see on the picture above. So never in a million years is Fox ever qualified to be Harley! The best possible pic for Harley is hands down Brittany Murphy. Think "Shelly" in Sin City but with a grin and a deranged sense of humour!!!

I've already been over the "riddler" issue waaayy too many times so i won't go there. All i can say is that i love Buscemi but he'd make a way better VENTRILOQUIST than Riddler. In fact, there simply isn't another actor out there that could do the ventriloquist's role justice more than Buscemi. Well...as second best: Michael Emerson.

As for Mr. Freeze, of course Crispin Glover could do the job as well as any other actor i can name. There are waaayy too many actors out there that can actually play that part. It doesn't require much. Which makes it even more pathetically and idiotically outstanding to see that Schumaker was able to cast the only actor out there that actually CAN'T play the part!!! Which brings me to simple "suggestions" for the role as none of them would eclipse the others's performances. Arnold... wait for it damn it... Vosloo (Mummy/Hard Target) or maybe even Bruce Payne (highlander endgame/D&D).

All in all, great pics Crush :))

CRUSH... guys... just IGNORE KRZYMUA! He LIVES for confrontation like this ("...because its fun debating or pissing off geeky kids sorry i mean geeky men or women like you...")! You're only feeding his warped ego! Let him rot in isolation... He'll soon realize it's no fun to play by (with) himself and just simply go away - but only if everybody just IGNORES HIM!!!

LOVE yer picks, but have to agree with Shaman on Megan Fox - she's eye candy and I don't think she could properly pull off phycho. I'm was also in agreement on the Lesnar issue, until I thought, "He'd be wearing a mask!!" As long as he's relegated to a secondary character and not given a lot of acting/lines to do, I guess I'm alright with Brock.

Viggo is an acting god among men!!

MarkCassidy - 2/11/2009, 10:04 AM
Crush i love all of your pics except Lesner and Blunt. I know Bane wouldnt really be a main villain but hes still a very smart articulate guy so he would have to do some talking, unlike shitmackers version and Brock has a very high girly voice..and is crap! Blunt may be a good actress but iv never seen her in anything so i can only comment on her looks..there not great! I just think Poison ivy should be sexy as hell..i actually liked Uma Thurmans version..in the looks department only of course!
My fave pic of yours is Rosario as Catwoman, i think that chick is one of the hottest things to come out of hollywood and is a great actress too
Shaman
Shaman - 2/11/2009, 10:25 AM
Actually loganoneil. Bane's mask would depend on Nolan. If he does the third movie with Bane in it, his mask would only be on for a fight scene or something. Most of the time, i believe he would want him to be as "realistic" as possible. Remember Joker's warpaint? So facial expression is totally a must. And Brock falls flat on his ass in that department. Hell, Goldberg would have a better shot at it and we all know how much he sucks on screen!
loganoneil
loganoneil - 2/11/2009, 10:37 AM
That's why I said '...As long as he's relegated to a secondary character and not given a lot of acting/lines to do...' (think Triple H in 'Blade 3'). Of course you all are right - Bane is much more than just a juiced thug, so to put the character in as overblow scenery (and to rehash him in a 'Shumacher' way) would be silly. Sorry CRUSH, Lesnar's gotta' go...

zinext - 2/11/2009, 10:45 AM
Megan Fox as harley quinn?? Fox is, well, one of the hottest girls in the industry, but u need a young actress with a good sense if humor and alot of personality 2 play quinn, honestly, a young halle berry would be perfect for quinn, but right now even The great shaman would have a hard time wit that one.

I'd have to say that if they take it that far into the Batman characters.....they might as well bring back Joel Schumacher to [frick] it up all over again. On a side note, I think Crispin Glover would make an awsome Riddler. I originaly thought that he would have made a perfect Joker....then Heath got it and ran with it, thank god. Crispin Glover has made a career out of playing these intelligent silent psychos that are internaling combusting in some form or another. I mean have you seen the remake of Willard?...come on, after seeing it, dont tell me he would'nt nail the Riddler part.
loganoneil
loganoneil - 2/11/2009, 11:14 AM
agentend - don't make me hurt you! Please don't mention the 'S' word again (I've got a very sensitive stomach...). I agree, Crispin is good, but is Riddler 'psycho' enough for him? I've always thought of the big Question Mark as kinda' low on the Psycho-Scale. His interpretation of Joker would have been... 'interesting' (to say the VERY least...).
Shaman
Shaman - 2/11/2009, 11:18 AM
Yes zinext, i would have a problem with Berry in any part that isn't drama related. She couldn't play crazy even if she actually was. She just might be though, after pulling off her X-fiasco. "Oooh, i'm a woman and i'm black and i demand a bigger role!"... Then she gets one in X3, screwes the whole franchise up, then she gets an even bigger one which was Catwoman and look how that turned out. I don't have much against Halle herself, bottom line is EVERY single actor should stick to what they do best. She's a Drama Queen and she doesn't belong anywhere near comic book movies. And she always brings "overhype" with her, everywhere she goes which is highly destructive to a franchise. Remember the huge deal about her tits in Swordfish??? Man was that ever disapointing. The only good part in that movie was Hugh telling her that she was [frick]ing up his "Chi". And now she said not too long ago how she's greatly sexually experienced thanks to all the men that entered her life... The hell are you telling us that for??? What, you want the role for "Basic Instinct 3" now??? Go ahead, take it, who the hell cares anyway.
agentend
agentend - 2/11/2009, 11:57 AM
I think they will take it only as far as the Riddler, Catwoman and the Penguin. You might get a cameo of some other kind of character or a breif mentioning of one...the X-man movies were great that this. Other than that, I dont think they will take it further than those three. Remember the new "Chris Nolan" theme is "REALISTIC". Any other director will follow the same route as well. Movie producers will remember what happens when you try to intrduce "far-out there", "scfi" characters from the Batman franchise.....remember Batmen @ Robin? Believe me they do. Its fun to pretend, but its not going to happen. They will stick to the character that they can paint with a realistic brush. The Riddler...you can make him some kind of a theif that leaves riddles behind each one of his heists that tells his next crime...if you can solve it...something, whatever. A cat and mouse game if you will. Catwoman, you could make her a "cat" bugler. Some kind of professional jewel thief that bounces in and around buildings like batman. Whatever. The Penguin...you can make him some kind of former mob hit man now trying to take it over because its in disaray. Trying to move on in into a top position and eventually getting there...trying to have the mob take back Gotham. Violently. With these characters, you could make two more movies which would be fitting. The next one could be the Riddler and Catwoman, both jewel thieves competing with each other with batman caught in the middle. The 4th movie can be all penguin...hell bring in Bane ( a realistic Bane) as the penguin's personal bodyguard or something. My point is it would have to "realistic" kind of characters with convincing storylines.

agentend - don't forget, there's in-fighting between Nolan and the 'powers that be' in the WB over the direction the Bat is to take and his relationship to the JLA. Nolan's days might be numbered (by his own choice). If that's so, who knows where the Bat will go. I just PRAY that they don't let Schumacher (or anyone like him) ANYWHERE near this new frachise!!!!!!!!!

loganoneil- dont you forget that Nolan took over the franchise and made one of the movies the second highest grossing movie of ALL TIME!! TRUST ME they are not fighting over the direction of the batman franchise!!!!!!!!!!TRUST ME....dont fall victim to the stupid rumer mill. If anything, they are in contract debates. WB probably wants Nolan to sigh some multi movie, mulimillion dollar deal that will create more batman movies in the future with him at the helm. With his vision. HIS VISION.....come on now, there not stupid...the first time was a fluke with Schumacher..they thought people would buy into it...we didnt...they learned...they wont repeat it! Simple as that. They know that they have hit PAY DIRT with Nolan and the audience!!!!!! Now you think ther going to mess with that??? REALLY?? STOP and think for a sec. Nolan probably doesnt want that deal. He's a director/artist he's not going to want to ONLY do batman movies for the next 10 years or longer. He's going to want to do other things/ other movies. Not just be tied to this series. Or to the WB for that matter. I guranntee you its over something like that...deals/contracts. Not because they want to fool with his vision for future movies.
Shaman
Shaman - 2/11/2009, 1:02 PM
Actually, not only do i think that Nolan's days are numbered, but they're done! I can't prove it yet but i have the feeling that as an artist, Nolan would rather end it with a bang (TDK) than risk his idiotic 3rd chapter curse and reputation. The rumours were all debunked by Goyer himslef. There is no such 3rd chapter in production. And DC/WB tells us that there are a full slate of them in production. Now what does that tell you? Nolan's not THAT attached to Batman's character. He'd rather leave it up to someone else and he sure as hell won't allow DC/WB to pressure him, as they are actually doing as we speek, ironically enough...

If you remember they tried to do the same thing to Tim Burton. And he said no way/no thank you. As a result..they tried to take it in another direction...and failed. They are not going to repeat the same mistake. It wont matter who the director is... Nolan or someone new. The franchise will stay on track with the vision of "realism" with the series. Im telling you the negotiations are over money and trying to retain Nolan for future movies...not that they want him to take the franchise down another silly path.....again. And never forget people....money talks and bullshit walks. Nolan WILL direct a third movie if the deal and the price is right!!!

Some more spitballs:

Riddler - Jake Gylenhall, friend of Heath, brother of Maggie, and almost Spiderman
Penguin - Philip Seymour Hoffman. Did you see him as Truman?
Catwoman - Rachel McAdams
Bane - Dave Batista, a wrestler who, in my opinion, has much more acting potential
Mr Freeze - Patrick Stewart. Yeah, I know he's already Xavier, but where are you gonna find a better fit, or a better actor?

Shaman
Shaman - 2/11/2009, 2:14 PM
BigHeadSarge- Gylenhall wouldn't be a convincing Riddler. Batista can't act. He's as good as HHH and CENA which really isn't flatering. Anybody can act angry, doesn't require much talent. Which is the single reason why the earlier Bane sucked. All he was was angry. No wrestler will do. And like i said above, there are ALOT of talented actors that can pull off Mr. Freeze. Stewart would be too old for the role. Bald is an easy fit to fill.

agentend- I know, that's exactly what they did to Burton and THEY ARE DOING IT AGAIN!!! You say they aren't when they obviously are! They are that stupid until proven otherwise. There are only three outcomes to this conflict. 1- They drop Nolan and go another way with the character to fit him in JLA and the DCU. 2- Nolan sticks around and DC/WB takes out Batman from JLA and replace him with someone stupid like Aquaman or Hawkman. 3- Same option as the second one but without Nolan as he would just refuse to be pressured and would get replaced by a young unknown director, with no creative liberties, but to follow exactly what the studio tells him to do. Either way, i prefer the first because i'm a fan even though that's the last thing that Batman's franchise needs after TDK!!! Reality's a bitch!

No disrespect 2 u shaman but it dosnt matter who would of played catwoman cuz the movie would of still been corny, and as for swordfish the movie was more based on hugh jackma than anyone, but the fact that berry showed her tits did overshadow the movie, cuz thats all that stands out, as for X3 she didnt seem too bad, ofcourse the movie wasnt all that great(still liked it tho), but I was actually saying halle berry at about 25, wen she was doing moives like baps and losing isaih, before all of her hype, ofcouse not now!!!

Well Burnslee, i personally feel that Riddler should be a mix of Depp's role in "Once apon a squat in Mexihole" and "The Secret Window". Not to mention, keeping anything and everything "chocolate factory" related the [frick] AWAY from the Riddler's portrayal.

Definitely BigHeadSarge! I love Seymour :))

Rachel McAdams would be a good catwoman too but i feel she'd be a better Andrea Beaumont/Phantasm. I'd prefer Carla Gugino as Catwoman myself. Think of her role in Sin City but in tight black latex!!!

But yeah, i'd be thrilled with both your pics here :))

Freeze is pretty much how ever old you want him to be. He's pretty much a cryogenicly frosen man who's actually walkin around LOL. BUT, he also needs to have the physical ability to go toe to toe with Batman. That ain't up Stewart's alley. Like i posted above:

"As for Mr. Freeze, of course Crispin Glover could do the job as well as any other actor i can name. There are waaayy too many actors out there that can actually play that part. Crush...OMG! you sound like such an angry elf in the beginning of your article...gg...but I totally see where you're coming from...=:)

I liked the idea of Crispin Glover for one of your villians but not for Mr.Freeze . I see him more as the Riddler. I was thinking if they made the 3rd installment in the "Nolan style" of Batman & the Riddler was in it- they should get him to play his part. I love Steve Buscemi but the Riddler seems more intellectual, cold, calculating, condescending whereas Steve Buscemi seems more sarcastic, devil may care blase type of personality.

Now Shaman...relax..take a deep breath & dont flip out on me when you read this... I think (dare I say it?) Rose Mcgowan would play catwoman well. I am not a fan of hers, honest..let me explain.. Cats are promiscuous, finiky, self serving, and always on the prowl..so who better? Her personality I think would do well in relating to the character & coming across on screen.

I think Brittany Murphy would be perfect for Harley Quinn! I could totaly see it!
