Disney XD's Marvel programming block is about to receive two upcoming shows, Avengers Assemble and Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. While Ultimate Spider-Man is still airing, Avengers Assemble has a confirmed release date of July 7, with a sneak peek airing on the 26th of May.
Meanwhile, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H has a premiere date of August 11th of this year.
More details:
The heroic lineup, which also includes Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye and Black Widow, is the same as the Avengers who assembled for Joss Whedon’s 2012 blockbuster, with the notable inclusion of one of Captain America’s oldest friends and partners, the Falcon.
A previous series, “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes,” offered glimpses of numerous Marvel characters, but “Avengers Assemble” marks the first time this lineup has appeared on a television show.
The series stars Adrian Pasdar as Iron Man, Roger Craig Smith as Captain America, Travis Willingham as Thor, Troy Baker as Hawkeye, Laura Bailey as Black Widow and Bumper Robinson as Falcon, with Fred Tatasciore reprising his role as Hulk.
Man of Action Studios’ Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle (“Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man,” “Ben 10″) will serve as the series’ executive producers.
The new show was touted in a side story in one of Marvel’s offerings for Free Comic Book Day, “Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.,” which also happens to be the name of Disney XD’s new animated “Hulk” series.
That show is set to air Aug. 11
