Filming for Batman v Superman: Days of Justice is still in its early days, but there have been a few interesting reveals to come from the set since production began last month. Beyond the LexCorp building, set photos last week revealed a mysterious and clearly unfinished Superman statue. According to Batman-News, the reported 15-foot tall structure is built in the Zack Snyder-directed film to celebrate Supes "saving the Earth" in Man of Steel. "My source on set said that they held a big ceremony to unveil the big Superman statue," explains the site. "Batman v Superman takes place about two years after the events of Man of Steel. Gotham and Metropolis news trucks and helicopters were on the scene to cover the Mayor’s speech and the statue unveiling. Elementary school kids wore 'Superman Survivors' shirts and helped pull a sheet off the statue for the big reveal." The site goes on to reveal the head-less Superman statue was still unfinished when the said scenes were shot, but that's because it will be completed in post-production.

Make the jump over to Batman-News for additional Batman v Superman details regarding the Caped Crusader's Batmobile. Also, check out more LexCorp set photos via Latino Review below.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, and Holly Hunter. The film, written by Chris Terrio from David S. Goyer's screenplay, and directed by Zack Snyder, hits May 6, 2016!

I told the GF that when I die I want to be stuffed and put in the front yard giving the finger to everyone. She said no. Maybe I can convince her to make a statue?

2 years later? ah so it takes place in real time (at least it would have if it was released in its original release date) Still, glad that the final fight in the last movie isn't being ignored. It better play a big part in this movie

idk how i feel considering the statue being built in his honor after the end of MOS, and yes,i think that way about the destruction but i dont think he is ahero yet which is why i wanted a sequel to help build him and his supporting cast further, anyways, while im Mixed on MOS,i do hope this film is good, i really like Henry Cavill,i like the choice of Ben Affleck as Batman,im on the fence with Eisenberg as Luthor and Gadot as Wonder Woman but i hope for the best

mrcool-i know goyer said that him killing zod and the destruction of the city will be a big part of the film but i dont know how much that is still in there due to Chris terrio rewriting it

I'd go with the statue, yoss. That way people can just hang stuff on the boner, and swing a rope and shit--.. wait, are we on the same page here? 'Cause that's what I want for my statue when I finally smoke myself to death.

Okay, just have Lex come in and be like, "Are you stupid Metropolis? Look what he has really done." or something along the lines of that.

Who doesn't love doves? I wonder if Dove's friend Hawk will show up. But on a more serious note getting a statue in your honor is cool.

Opening scene of the movie. We hear Lex Luthor dedicating the statue during the opening titles.
shabat
shabat - 6/16/2014, 9:55 AM
It just seems odd to be celebrating him this early. I remember Zack Snyder saying something like Luthor will be calling him "Alien" constantly. If you have that influential of a person doing that, certainly a lot of the public would think the same as well. Hell, even at the end of MOS, General Swanwick didn't seem totally convinced either.

Don't get me wrong, I like MOS, but it feels like maybe they aren't understanding the ramifications they set up in that movie. Anywho, all this is too early for me to speculate, so as you said @ezio, we'll just see how it plays out.

I noticed it said two years in the rumor, so I won't bother.

Oh, but thank you ever so much for waiting anxiously. I am so grateful and humbled. This has utterly made my year.

Thank God they're going with something that makes sense instead of adapting the narrative to please nonsense complaints from fanboys. I've always said: going with the premise that the world hates Superman or is divided about Superman because "he destroyed Metropolis" is garbage, it doesn't make any sense if they want to do a movie with mature ideas. What makes sense is that most people are aware of the fact that, even though thousands died in Metropolis, Earth is only here and humans are alive because of Superman's efforts. Period.

THAT BEING SAID, I think the world SHOULD BE divided for some reason, and the logical reason is: Superman is an alien with powers that goes beyond anything we have, we can't stop him. For now, he says he's a friend, but what if he turns against us? Who's to say he is always right? What if he thinks humans are wrong and decides to make himself King of the World or whatever? Who's gonna stop him? The existence of Superman is, in its essence, a threat to democracy, a threat to our social organizations. THAT should be the premise, people are building him statues because some people love him, but there's also a complex environment where you find fear and distrust. That's what makes sense and opens relevant themes, not "oh, people are angry with him because he never took the fight away from Metropolis". That's bullcrap, that's childish.

Form The same news
I also have a brief Batmobile update to share. I’ve been told that the Batmobile doors open up like wings. I’m not sure if that means it’ll transform into a Batwing and allow Batman to fly… but with Superman and Wonder Woman confirmed for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it’d certainly make sense.

I think this another Interesting thing he got there.
