Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014

Wow! 2 hours and 1 minute! Sounds good to me!

To me it seems like Marvel always wants to cut up the Thor films in weird ways and leave out the good parts but yet in other films they're like whatever.

It's kinda weird.

Marvel secretly has something against Thor... I think... ;P

Glad James confirmed Guardians is indeed 2 hours and 1 minute long.

Yondu looks pretty cool.
Still think a large fin (CG) should pop out of head when he's pissed or goes into action.
That would really honor the characters real look but it's a sacrifice we gotta accept.

Don't like the look.

I do not like that Michael Rooker is in this movie. He is kind of a jerk in person.

It always bugs me when, in the age of the internet, someone says ''i don't know anything about this character''.

2hrs and 1minute? Ugh. Why is it that short? At least for a film of this magnitude.

@Eziokenway1225 it is actually pretty cool as that is my favorite movie of all time. I'm going Monday to see the sneak peak and I'm hoping this movie is on par.

Does Yondu use a bow at all in the movie? That would be tight.

"Marvel secretly has something against Thor... I think"

Marvel, since Quesada took over, has always had something against Thor. Before Marvel NOW, Thor was nothing more than a punching bag for them.

121 minutes might seem a bit short at first, but of they're well used it's plenty of time. Also yay @blue Rooker!

I'm digging the look and I hope we see more of Yondu in future movies. Though from the description, he doesn't sound very 'heroic' as his comic book counterpart, but maybe they'll develop him more.

I'm SOOO looking forward to the 17 minute preview. From what I've heard it's going to rock our sox world!!!

I can live with it but from what we seen so far most aliens look like humans with skin paint. Not great.

How many after credits scenes were there McN?

Or were there none in your early screening?

Still in disbelief we are getting a GotG film. My favorite original Guardian is Yondu, I am excited he is a part of the film.

I AM GROOT!!!

Looks cartoon-ish like those Wall decals you buy, so I'll wait for an actual image before I judge...

Yondu looks great! I guess it's not surprising we won't be getting a promo image of Thanos before the movie is released.

BTW, guys, two other things about Guardians runtime:

1) It is the 7th longest Marvel movie out of the ten MCU movies to be 2 hours long or more and it ranks in 7th place of the running times of the currently released Marvel Studios MCU movies between "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Thor".

2) It is also the same running time as the first "Spider-Man" movie directed by Sam Raimi, not only the same running time as the first "Star Wars" that came out in 1977.
