VIDEO: Kevin Feige Explains CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR + Full 'Phase 3' Presentation Revealed

Now check out video of the Captain America 3 title reveal, in addition to Kevin Feige explaining after the presentation how the Civil War adaptation will be different from its source material.

By DCMarvelFreshman - Oct 28, 2014 12:10 PM EST
When it was first reported ahead of today's announcement that Captain America 3 would adapt the famous Civil War storyline to the big-screen, many wondered how would directors Joe and Anthony Russo get around that fact that there aren't many secret identities in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not to mention there are characters in the comic storyline that are owed by other studios. Well, after the presentation today, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige explained: I don't want to give too much away, but needless to say, the generalities of the [Superhero Registration] act are the same. Something happens. Perhaps, it's culmative for things that have happened from all of the movies leading up to this point. As many of the governments of the world say, 'We need to have some oversight of these guys; They need to report to somebody'. So, it falls more under that umbrella versus 'take off your mask'. It's not about the secret identity thing as much as it is about overall who reports to who and who can agree to an oversight. Because of now, in Avengers 2, there is no more Security Council, obviously there is no more S.H.I.E.L.D. Stark is paying for it, Captain America is running it, and things occur that make governments began to question that." Anyhow, Captain America: Civil War is expected to star Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, and Chadwick Boseman with many others, and is set for release on May 6, 2016. Check below for video of what Kevin Feige said above, as well as o video of all the Phase Three announcements. What do you think?

I imagine this won't stop nerds from badmouthing the concept based on no secret identities.

All praise the creator of all things MCU Kevin Feige. Thank God for Kevin Feige because we would never be anywhere near where we are today without Kevin Feige.

Holy hell.... He basically just confirmed that this is Captain America's show, and not Tony. Love that. Also, I freaking hate that they chose Carol over Mar-vell. Frustrating beyond anything else to me.

I want this movie to end with Cap getting publicly shot by Crossbones. Then after a montage of people grieving the loss of Captain America, we cut to a dark room, where we find Tony and Cap talking about how they set up Cap's death. We learn that Cap will go undercover, work in the shadows. Then Tony will say "Have fun with your new team. They're not as colorful as us, but they should get the job done." Then cut to Cap turning around, and there are the Secret Avengers!

Haha it's the traditional Halloween thing on twitter apparently: changing your name to something scary/creepy.

"Warner Bros is making superhero movies for investors. Marvel is making superhero movies for fans."

False
Marvel just knows how to conduct business faster

Technically, Marvel is making its movies for investors too...they just dress it up a little better lol. They know the best way to reward the investors is to reward the fans.

Same endgame, different paths.

Business people, business. You really think there's room for sentiment in business?
Just because it's appealing, doesn't mean they're trying to please you to make you happy. They want your money, like every other business

Maybe a year or so ago someone wrote a great write-up on Black Panther. His powers and exploits all laid out. Anyone remember that or have a link to that, I'd like to give it another read.
