1920s Setting Rumored For WONDER WOMAN Movie

Gal Gadot's solo Wonder Woman outing may be set for release three years from now, but supposed details have already hit the net, suggesting the movie is headed in quite an unexpected direction.

Warner Bros. confirmed just two weeks ago that Gal Gadot will indeed fly solo as Princess Diana in a Wonder Woman movie, after she debuts as the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but rumors for the 2017 solo movie have already began to circulate.  "I have been informed that the film will spend the first half on Paradise Island with warring Amazon factions vying for control," reports Bleeding Cool, who claims to have sources who have seen the greenlit script treatment for Wonder Woman. "An arrival of a man (who is NOT Steve Trevor) on the island changes that status quo, as he asks the Amazons for help." Apparently, Princess Diana will join the said man on his journey back to earth where a 1920s setting will be revealed. "And the film will then show Diana exploring that world...from her unique perspective." Furthermore, the site implies that Warner Bros. already has plans for a Wonder Woman sequel during World War II, and a threequel "would then take place in the modern day, with the Justice League Of America." These details seem a bit out of sync with what we know about the planned DC Cinematic Universe. However, if true, does this mean Wonder Woman will have been roaming earth since the 1920s when she is introduced in modern-day in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? What do you think?

Wonder Woman could seen as DC's Captain America from what I've just read. Just think about it: She could meet Steve Trevor in the time period, akin to Steve and Peggy's relationship.

It would be a real shame if they make Wonder Woman into a fusion of Cap and Thor...

The fact that she's been around since the 20's can make sense, they just need to establish that they don't age the way normal humans do, like Thor over at Marvel or Wolverine at Sony. The part that's BS here is that there are plans for a Wonder Woman trilogy.

I would rather stare at bad terminator photography for 9 hours straight than watch two WW flicks set in old times.

Get your Shit together DC. Soon.

I love the idea of taking the character back in time. I would have never looked at the 1920s but I am definitely down with putting her in the Second World War.

Would have been nice to see her involved in WWI though...

I like the idea of having her appear indifferent time periods, although the 1920's is a bit of an odd choice... Id have her appear in the 40's for a WWII themed film similar to Cap and shows where she gets the red white and blue costume. Then have the sequel time jump to either 60's or 70's era and then third film in present day! Almost like the current x-men franchise, jumping generational films

Actually it could work but they'd have to do a lot to differentiate from Cap. But then again I hope this is all bs.
