Iron Man 2 Tweet About 3D & IMAX

I have found another tweet from Iron Man 2's Visual Effects Coordinator.
I have found another tweet from Iron Man 2's Visual Effects Coordinator.

"Meeting with ILM to discuss 3-D and IMAX sequences." about 2 hours ago from Echofon

So what do you guys think? Do you think Marvel Studios is gonna present their entire upcoming slate in 3D & Imax. Personally I hope they don't, because wearing those annoying glasses through the entire film really agrivates. Now with Imax, I still haven't experienced it, so who knows.

I'm old fashioned too Tea@! I hate
those 3-D glasses! You would think
after all these years they could
come up with better 3-D glasses!
Sheesh!!!
DDD - 10/29/2009, 4:44 PM

DDD@ tell me about it...i wanna enjoy the movie not wear a stupid prop :(
teabag - 10/29/2009, 5:01 PM
I hope not - 3-D glasses just distort things more than anything especially the crappy coloured ones you get with DVD's/Blu-ray's...I watched 'My Bloody Valentine 3D' on blu-ray and it was tinged purple and green for the whole damned movie!!!

After all these years its still a gimmick...not the new way to watch movies....i tellya smellovision will be back soon lol :P

Actually, they use different glasses in the theatre now,and they are not nearly as annoying. You only get the old style if you buy the movie in 3D at home.

The 3D is great for the animated movies like
up and monsters vs aliens, now Imax is a whole different story. I watched transformers ROTF in imax and the forrest fight scene was AMAZING. for all the shit bay takes for his films, ROTF was made for imax, thats the best way to experience it.

@ Tea: I couldn't agree more. When 3D was the new big thing back in the day it was because movie companies felt threatened by television taking away the movie companies customers. So they needed to come up with new gimmicks to get butts in seats. Now it is no different, with all the new ways to watch movies such as Netflix. Movie companies are threatened. So now another gimmick, I have yet to see a 'new' 3d movie in where I say to myself "Now this is the new way movies are going to be seen". I have however not experienced IMAX.
MidKnight35 - 10/29/2009, 6:12 PM
Why not? Its not like they arent gonna show it in normal theaters. I hope they do show it in Imax and 3D, its just a bonus.

Imax gives me a headache. I could not even hit the bar after watching Star Trek in Imax. And what is with all the 3d stuff lately? They ought to remake Robot Jox. That would be a cool remake.
Number21 - 10/29/2009, 8:30 PM
I just want normal movies, I'm not really into the new stuff.
ClintEastwood - 10/29/2009, 9:34 PM
i think that they should make a normal movie and a 3D movie or IMAX.
Torsji - 10/30/2009, 2:25 AM
Yeah Iagree with Torsji
ClintEastwood - 10/30/2009, 10:24 AM
you all are a bunch of pussies.

theres nothing wrong with the new 3d format. it rocks!! glasses and all.

bring it on in 3D!!!!!
ItsNotASchooner - 10/30/2009, 11:15 AM
I seriously hope this dosnt happen, due to the small number of Imax cinema in the UK. I go to the cinema for a movie not a novelty experience.
INFAMOUS88 - 10/30/2009, 2:17 PM
Gimmicks?

Hell, I can remember going to the theater for "Battlestar Galactica" in SENSURROUND!

Fads...

Shoot IMAX, wait on the 3D. Now if Cameron's "Avatar" works well, I might change my opinion...
