While Anthony Mackie has been out and about teasing the latest Captain America: Civil War script, Sebastian Stan, meanwhile, has seemingly been left in the dark about his confirmed return as Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier. During an interview with Variety, the Romanian actor was asked if he had read the script yet, to which he replied: "No... I mean this–I have no idea what’s happening." Stan later added that he has no idea if he'll appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron or the Infinity War movies, and doesn't know how many more Marvel movies he will be in. "That’s the most boring answer, but literally the only answer I know. It’s out of my control," he said. When asked if the Captain America franchise has changed his life, Sebastian Stan was a bit more chatty. "Credit is due where credit is due–2014 was a very different year for me because of The Winter Soldier," he admitted. "The awareness of me in terms of the industry has been very different. It’s granted me more opportunity to be able to search for the projects I want to be involved in, and work with the kind of filmmakers I’m really interested in working with. Bryan Buckley, to me, I feel like he’s going to be someone you’re going to know for a long time time. I was like, 'Wow, I got the chance to work this guy before everyone is going to want to work with him.'"
While he's probably just keeping mum to avoid those "Marvel snipers," it is interesting that Sebastian Stan seems to know next to nothing about Captain America: Civil War. Especially since Cap's unresolved relationship with Bucky is said to be a big piece of the Marvel threequel's puzzle. It's also worth mentioning that screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely recently revealed that they are currently on their fourth draft for Civil War. However, with filming scheduled to start in three months, that should be enough time to get Stan up to speed. What do you think?
