PHOTO: Has Jeremy Renner Revealed 'Hawkeye's' Allegiance In CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR?
"Whose Side Are you On?" will be a question that Earth's Mightiest Heroes will face next year in Captain America: Civil War, but we might have gotten an unsurprising indication of whether Hawkeye will be team Iron Man or Captain America. Check it out after the jump!
We've known ever since Robert Downey Jr. joined the cast of Captain America: Civil War that the 2016 flick will be a loose adaptation of the comic book storyline that saw many superheroes of the Marvel Universe become divided over the prospect of the Superhuman Registration Act. However, what we still don't know about the highly-anticipated movie is which Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes will be pro-registration with Downey's Iron Man or anti with Chris Evans' Captain America.
Well, we might have just learned whose allegiance Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye will be a part of when all the calamity unfolds in Civil War. As pictured below, the Avengers: Age of Ultron star has been spotted out and about wearing a cap with "Team Captain America" embedded on the front. Which suggests the archer will be against the government having control over the superhero community, among other things. And in other words, Hawkeye is siding with the titular super soldier. However, given the stakes will be high, that allegiance could change over the course of the "Phase Three" movie. Of course, we could be looking too much into Renner's headwear. What do you think?
Directed by Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain. Starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Martin Freeman, Captain America: Civil War is set for release on May 6, 2016.
