Though we got an early first look at X-Men: Apocalypse by way of official (and leaked) promo images earlier this year, fans are now very eager to know when the first trailer will be released. Well, we still don't have a specific date yet for the teaser, but director Bryan Singer has revealed roughly when we can expect one that will premiere with a spoiler from the 2016 X-Men installment. Furthermore, the filmmaker also explained why Apocalypse might be longer than usual and also how Michael Fassbender made him cry amid filming of "heartbreaking" scene. Watch the vid below.

"It cuts a little long right now," said Singer of the status of X-Men: Apocalypse at the San Pedro International Film Festival, where he was discussing The Usual Suspect's 20th anniversary. "I think it's gonna be a longer X-Men movie. The X-Men movies, I usually I keep under two hours, but this one I may actually let be a longer movie because it's sort of a wrap-up of six movies. There's even an homage at the end. There's a scene - it's gonna get spoiled because that decided to use it in the trailer which comes out, like six months, but it's a really cool trailer - but the [homage] is kind of a wrap up of six movies. So, it might run a little bit long, but it's not boring."

Despite having a longer run-time, Bryan Singer reassured that X-Men: Apocalypse certainly won't be boring. "There's new characters, young characters, rekindled romances like with [Charles] Xavier and Moira MacTaggert played by Rose Byrne who is amazing," he said, before teasing a moment during filming that left him in tears. "Michael Fassbender did something so wonderful in this movie... We're at the end of the scene, and he asked me not to call cut and when the scene was over, he continued and did something that made me cry in the tent; I've never done that before. The head of my company grabbed a Kleenex. Simon Kinberg, the writer who has no emotions at all, actually became emotional. It was so beautiful, I've never seen an actor do this for me and [Fassbender] just took the scene to a whole 'nother level. It's a heartbreaking scene, not a typical comic book movie scene at all, so let's hope it makes the cut. But after he did it, I went up to him, hugged him and said 'Thank you, Michael, for that gift. Now I need you to do it again.' And he did it, and [frick]ing rocked it again... with full emotion."

Singer continued offering praise for Michael Fassbender as well as two other Apcalypse actors. "This guy's amazing, he can go from the most emotionally devastating moment to breakdancing to 'Blurred Lines' in between takes. He, James McAvoy, and my villain Oscar Issac are among the three greatest living actors in cinema, in their age category by far. They will not be lauded, or rewarded, because they're in an X-Men movie and comic book movies just don't get that kind of shit. But they deliver some extraordinary performances particularly in X-Men: Apocalypse. The movie is very emotional. I love the pathos of the characters and their relationships"

Six months from now is just two months shy of the movie's release, so Bryan Singer probably was not referring to the first official X-Men: Apocalypse teaser trailer which should come out before the year is over. However, we can surely expect something especially with Fox's release of Deadpool on February 12, 2016. As for that emotional scene involving Magneto, what do YOU think will happen?

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-Men: Apocalypse, opening in theaters everywhere May 27, 2016. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from total destruction.

There's no way we get the first teaser in March lol. The movie comes out 2 months later than that. We should get something before Christmas! That makes more sense. But if they hold out till February when Deadpool comes out, there's nothing we can do. I just hope to see something soon. 2016 is going to be so awesome for CBM's I can't wait!

Or he means that the trailer with the spoiler in it will come out in 6 months. Either way I think all the Marvel Zombies will be pissed since I'm pretty sure the "homage" is them wearing the suits from the first film.

Who the hell wrote the transcript? Why would the first trailer for a movie come out nearly a month away from the movie's release date?

Kinda late for a trailer. Probably a misqoute. We will have a trailer before the year is out.

X-Men Apocalypse may end up being better than both Batman V Superman and Captain America: Civil War just like X-Men Days of Future Past was better than Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Its interesting how people play dumb when they want to hate. But they're completely logical and understanding when its something they're partial to. Genius' even.

No integrity.

The Fassbender scene sounds good, hope it's in the movie! His part and the interaction between him and McAvoy's Xavier made First Class a movie I liked way more than I'd expected. Sadly DoFP didn't do as much for me as for other people, although it was definitely enjoyable to watch (once).

Hopefully Apocalypse will kill it!
