FAN FIC: The Avengers Help/Opinions

Check out my short Avengers story. It isn't finished, because I need your help & opinions. To find out exactly what, check it out!

If you don't know by now, I have been working on my own Avengers story. It is based on the confirmed info for the actual 2012 film, and a little made up by me.

I had a full story, but I have doubts about the direction I could go with the main characters: Nick Fury, Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Thor, and Bruce Banner.

INTRODUCTION
SHIELD find Captain America's body with the new products from Stark Industries. After SHIELD finds the body, they take it as a sign to reopen the Super Soldier Program, as a Sub-Initiative for the Avenger Initiative. The Avenger Initiative was government official, but was unstable.

Before SHIELD can reopen the Super Soldier Program, they must recieve approval from the government, and an investor. The last two attempts at the serum was privatly done by the military, both times involving General Ross. Both also failing, creating a fugitive of Bruce Banner as Hulk. And a prisoner of Emil Blonsky as Abomination.

THE PRESENTATION
Director of SHIELD, Nick Fury is giving the presentation to reopen the SSP, to the government. In his presentation he explains why the program is needed for todays society. The SHIELD members attending the presentation alongside Fury are: Deputy director of SHIELD, Maria Hill & Agent Coulson. General Ross, quiet, is also attending.

RICK JONES
In the beginning of the presentation, a mysterious guy claiming to be a Rick Jones, a Gamma Radiation scientist, interupts. (Secretly, this is Loki in disguise) His personality is very trippy. He presents himself as a smart mouth, know it all type of character. And when Nick Fury gives a small description of Thor, Rick Jones(Loki), unable to control himself, blurts out how he truly feels about Thor.

When Hulk & Abomination was brought up, Rick(Loki), would always ask questions he had no right to know, because they were government covered. (He wants to use the Hulk to go after Thor.) Secretly he didn't need answers because he was reading everyone's minds. (But we don't know this until the middle of the film)

Soon, after the government approves SHIELD at recreating the Super Soldier Serum, Rick Jones(loki) realizes he must get in good terms, with SHIELD, to get close to Thor, without Thor figuring him out. So he uses the lie of being a scientist of Gamma Radiation, to his advantage, and offers himself to SHIELD to help recreate the serum

The way I planned on introducing Tony Stark & Thor, is by Nick Fury going to see them. He would go to Tony to get investment in the Super Soldier Program, and discuss Captain America. And he would go to Thor to do the same, besides getting investment. What I need help with is:

-What could Tony & Thor be doing, when Nick Fury goes to meet them?

-Should it be as Iron Man or Tony Stark, that Nick goes to see?

-When Loki is claiming to be Rick Jones, should it be as the same actor, who portrays Loki in Thor 2011 dressed as a human, or should it be another actor overall?

MarvelFreshman: What I have above so far, is the direction I want to start off. I know what I want to do with Hulk & Cap. I think you can figure out both, but What do you think?

good job on this story!
i like it a lot!
as for your questions, here's my opinion:
Tony (not Iron Man) should be sitting at a fancy bar drinking and flirting with some potential "prospect."
Black Widow comes over and scares off said prospect. Tony, being no one's fool, looks around for Fury.

as for Thor, i like how it was in Ultimate Avengers where Fury steps in while Thor is giving poachers a "peaceful" demonstration. but i guess that depends on how the Thor film goes.

as for Loki, it should be a different actor as Rick Jones. Loki has the ability to shape shift so it makes sense that another actor would be needed to portray the same character. wouldn't it be more of a shock to realize that Rick Jones is Loki halfway throught the film?

so that's my opinion and i hope it helps.
Wadey out!

two questions though:
when is Cap conscious in the story?
and why is my las comment in bold?

I want to have Tony Stark, Thor, and Bruce Banner introduced before Captain America comes to life.

In the film, I would want Captain America up, at least 25-30 minutes, after the film begins. I think thats reasonably, giving Cap an hour and thirty minutes of screen time.

I think thats a sweet picture you got there @ FRESHMAN!!

As for ya direction, pretty darn good man, but you gotta put in HANK & JAN, not AVENGERS movie without them!

And if MARVEL don't put 'em in, then we'll just have half a AVENGERS movie without the Epic factor!

Again i like man!

Just by writing this fan Story, I understand what Marvel means, when they say they don't want to overcrowd the film.

Its hard enough having the confirmed characters, and have a great solid story.

I COULD take the easy route, and have Hank & Jan both start off as SHIELD agents, and they help the Avengers, like Black Widow & Hawkeye would.

Meaning they wouldn't be Wasp & Giant Man, Just mastered SHIELD agents. BUT I really don't think fans would go for that, just to be able to say they were in the film.

Now What I know for sure for my fan story, they will cameo. But I'm still working on that as well.

All in all, it would be best if we wait till their solo, origin film, then have them in The Avengers sequel.

The characters I have confirmed for my story, could easily be in the film.

Maria Hill

Agent Coulson

Clint Barton

Natasha Romanoff

James Rhodey, (Maybe as War Machine, still unsure)

General Ross

Betty Ross (You can't have Hulk without Betty)

Abomination (Cameo)

The Wrecking Crew (Only if my theory of them being in the Thor film is ture)

I Also want to include someone who Steve Rogers knows from WW2, that is still living. I know you guys don't want to see Bucky Barnes old again, basically because you want to see a Winter Soldier in the future. Maybe I'll add his old Love Interest, who is now older.

well to answer the third question: Loki has the ability to turn into any person he chooses, so there would be no need for him to dress up. He can just take the shape of somebody else. Frankly he could kill all the avengers if he just took the shape of somebody stronger than the avenger he's up against. But since this is a movie, they gotta dumb things down just so they make it so the Avengers can win.

@Everyone, the reason I asked about the Loki thing, is because like Diamond1995 said, Loki could just kill them simply, but won't do that for the sake of them film.

I find that very weak. So I think Loki's powers on earth should be limited from what he can do up in Asgard.

Sorta how Thor is gonna come to earth powerless. Loki's power would just be limited. But I guess the shapeshifting thing could be kept.

Well, I like the overall premise of it. It is much different than the story I did back in the day.

I'm not sure that you will need to show Fury recruiting Tony, that is how Iron Man ended, adn it appears like Fury will have a big role in Iron man2.

If you did have to introduce him, I say the best way would be him at a bar talking to a hot chick, hitting on her, when three big uniformed guys walk up and tap him on the shoulder, he looks from them to her and says "How old did you say you were again?" Then Nick walk up and tells teh girl to leave and they engage in witty dialogue. SOmething like

-Nick-"It's time Tony."
-Tony- "Well, I'd be having a good time if you hadn't showed up."

something like that. Not sure about Thor though.

As for the Pyms. they are integral parts of the team. They need more than a cameo as SHIELD agents. I decided to give them the origins of their powers in the Avengers story I did. It took about a paragraph and I established more backstory and character development throughout the story.

I saw in your comments something about the roster. There is teh problem with overcrowding the book, btu soem characters really don;t need origins for teh Avengers film, characters like Hawkeye, Ant-Man and Wasp, their origins could be aluded to in the film and expanded on in solo films.

Here is the roster of Avengers I had in my story:

Iron Man
Captain America
Thor
Ant-Man
Hawkeye
Ms. Marvel
Mockingbird

I also had supporting characters;

Janet Pym
Sharon Carter
Nick Fury
Rick Jones
Betty Ross

and for villains I had:
Loki
Hulk (turns good)
Abomination

I had a large cast and still had, well i hope I had, a very engaging story.

I need to do a sequel...
