"Today it has been learned that Disney has purchased a new batch of internet domain names. The most interesting domain in the batch is a domain for an Ant-Man movie: ANT-MAN-THEMOVIE.COM. Now, this doesn’t confirm anything… but Disney doesn’t usually purchase domain names without reason. Looks like they are considering an Ant-Man movie."

Good stuff MF! You beat me to this one!

I am not sure how well this movie will translate to the big screen if it sticks to original story. I like the shrinking ability but controlling ants? It just seems outdated to me.

I say go with Giant Man for the Avengers

"...Disney doesn’t usually purchase domain names without reason."

That's right! World domination and its emasculation is the reason.

I really hope they include Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but like you said, DogsOfWar, and make him Giant Man by the end of the film.

@MikeSanderson09 Right on. I can see the film ending with Pym mixing some chemical by mistake and falls over. Then the camera pans away looking at his shadow grow larger.

good news. maybe we will see him as giant-man in the avengers with the wasp, and then they will go back and do his origins now that would be sweet.

Cool, no way is it going to come out in 2011 (Marvel already has its hands full with that year), so possibly 2012 (though I doubt it because of a little project called the Avengers), or 2013. Going with Ant-Man 2 is better IMO, leave Hank and Jan in Avengers.

Personally, I just hope Hank can shrink AND grow in Avengers. Call him whatever the f*ck you want, as long as he can do both I'm good.

They'll be thinking after The Avengers, I think what would be cool for an Ant-Man movie is to see him working on and devloping the growing part of his powers while he woukd reminisce about his earlier days as "Ant-Man", Edgar Wright said that the film would swap between Hank as Ant-Man and Scott as Ant-Man. As long as Hank and Janet are in Avengers and Hank can grow I'll be happy.

I think after the Avengers, Marvel and Disney will be planning IM3, Hulk2, and Ant-Man..and then Doc Strange and stuff.

Brilliant news! I'd actually be happy with them delaying The Avengers slightly if it meant that an Ant-Man movie would give them the chance to set up Hank and Jan for a proper appearence alongside Cap, Iron Man and Thor! :)

No way, the only way I want Avengers delayed is so they can get the story right. But I imagine Ant-Man, will come out after The Avengers, only to appear in an Avengers sequel. If Ant-Man does come out in 2012, it would be weird if Ant-Man competes with the rebooted Spider-Man.

MF: I'd be happy with a delay of a few months - in fact, they wouldnt need to delay it if they got Ant-Man released in early 2012! If they dont decide to do that though, introducing the characters in the quick way that The Ultimates did would be fine by me!

This movie was already supposed to be done. The dude who directed Shaun of The Dead was attached to this project like 2006-08 according to Wizard magazine.
Simon Pegg was attached to Ant-man too..

KiddSoul

Think about it rather than being Captain America(ha!hell naw!) I can totally see John Krasinski as the genius Hank Pym/Ant-man/yellow jacket/Giant Man.

With Emily Blunt and John being a married couple that chemistry will work good on screen! I totally can see it!

@ Jazz-- Then why did Wizard magazine publish an artical saying they have a script and they were beginning to shoot the movie in 07 ??.

@kooldeath

Not necessarily! There was a Fantastic Four movie made in the early 90's (or late 80's)that was never released. There was also a Justice League movie that was just awful, and never released to the public. When a directer or producer says they can make a movie with a meager budget and make a piece of crap, the movie's owner can say, "there's no way this movie will be released with my name on it". Hence, it is shelved!

Superman 2 is a good example. How many years had to go by before the "Richard Donner Cut" came out.

FYI, there is a few place to download these movies, its really not worth it though!
