Details on Thor & Loki Costumes For Marvel's Norse Adaption?

Members of Ain't It Cook News, recently commented on an article involving Thor actor, Tom Hiddleston, joining a Woody Allen film. In their comments, two to be exact, posted by one guy. they expressed what apparently is their description of Thor and even Loki costumes for the feature film.

Note that these description aren't officially proven accurate, but you decide.

Here are the comments, by "IndustryKiller!" of AICN

Everyone looks absolutely perfect, right down tot he color scheme. ANd its straight up medieval future tech looking. And yes Loki has black straight hair even know Hiddleston is blonde and curly. THor is balls accurate though complete with cape, chain mail arms, the circles going down the front of the torso, and winged helmet.

I've seen the costumes, and they did absolutely [frick]ing nail it. Very Walt Simonson. And I think my reputation as someone very critical of most comic book films procedes me here so I'm not just some excited fanboy. The only thing that is funny about Loki's costume is that while its gold and has the big horns sticking out, the helmet part of it, meaning the part that actually touches his head, kind of looks like a bicycle helmet, I think more so that it would, practically speaking, stay comfortable on the actor and not move around due to the horns. The warriors three are also the same kind of medieval future tech look, a little less traditional than the comic but still very very awesome and the look of each of the actors themselves is [frick]ing dead on. Ray Stevenson looks especially cool in a chubby suit. Trust me, I think everyone here is going to be very very pleased as Branaugh just more or less adapted the comic. I was surprised at how well the looks work when translated into reality.

Apart from those great descriptions, AICN editor gave a heads up, of what to expect from Marvel at this year's comic-con, involving Thor of course.

it shouldn't be any surprise, but I've been hearing rumblings that those attending Comic-Con this year will get an eye-full. That's all I could pry from my usual Comic-Con leaker, but I'd bet the hope of Marvel Studios is to be the talk of the Con by bringing a ton of stuff and from what I hear it's looking good.

"Loki has black straight hair even know Hiddleston is blonde and curly."

If that is accurate copy, they need to get a much better editor. If the info is legitimate...cool!

I would imagine that Loki's helmet will look a little different. It probably has straps. Those horns are pretty big and I'm sure that's the only way to keep the helmet from tipping over.

I was actually kind of worried about Loki's horns. I wasn't sure they'd be able to pull off a helmet like that, so, I'm glad to hear this news.

Aside from Hemsworth, I'd really like to see Hopkins in costume. I'm stoaked about us finally having a Cap casting an all but this is the movie i'm most looking forward to. Everything that comes out of this production screams awesome. As far as I know we haven't heard anything negative about this movie as of yet, not drama with casting or direction, no problems with set or costume designs. I mean, all indicators point to a really great flick here. Even if we don't get to see any pics of the cast in all their duds, i'll still be happy waiting until the trailer.

Yes!!! That sounds perfect! I so hope this is true. I dig the chain mail. I was hoping they would use the modern look. This movie is going to be amazing!!!

I wasn't bothered about the colour of Loki's hair but it looks as if Kenneth has done an amazing and faithful adaption.

Can't WAIT for this film!

I am like squeeling right now just as how the Joker said batman would do criminals. If this is truly legit I'm going to freak at Comic Con in my Green Lantern costume. Even though I am a GL fanatic and most likely going to attend the Green Lantern movie Panel "cross fingers" I am so aghast by Thor and want to attend the Thor panel so badly.

ARGHGHGHGHG! I'm so excited for Comic Con this year it is going to be the best one yet as well as 2011.

@Scorpiox
Damn that was a while ago my bro.
The first time I dawned the green suit was 1994 and I was only a kid.
You should go to San Diego Comic Con and go to the Warner Bros. panel. I'm going to say the green lantern oath with my new GL suit. Though, I have my red lantern ring not my green one lol.

great find. we can only hope that this movie delivers. i actually have faith in this one. i'm more interested in the action sequences. a movie of this caliber would be incomplete if it lacked stunning and well directed fight scenes. i don't mean thor hitting loki over the head with a hammer. i mean over-the-top-crater-making-thunder-striking-holy-cow-did-that-just-happen-kinda-stuff.

Can't wait to see what this looks like.

Mainly cos I'm really interested how they are gonna interpret the look of the comic on to the screen without making it look like some sort of Monty Python style, camp fiesta!!!

Could be tricky!!

DARTH: Fingers crossed bud! :) I was never really a fan of Thor until JMS brought him back, gave hima new look and dropped all of the "Thee" and "Thou" stuff! I like the classic costume...

...but this looks so much better!

And as much as I like The Ultimates, I hope to God we end up with a costume that looks nothing like that! :P
StephenStrange
StephenStrange - 3/29/2010, 6:40 AM
@ Josh: yeah I understand that, especially when it comes to the costume but a lot of people don't realize that older Thor comics tend to be incredibly good reads.
A lot of cool, epic, ultra cosmic things happened in the pages of Thor in the past. Especially in the 60's and 70's there was a lot of mind bending sci fi adventures that ocurred when Thor goes up against some of Marvel's most colorful villians like Ego: The Living Planet, the Destroyer armor, The Stranger, Galactus, Firelord, The Possesser...

The JMS stuff is wonderful of course, but IMO older Thor comics have something in them of value as well.

But the JMS costume IS the best by far, and it sounds very much like the one they are describing.

I'll tell you what ... if Kenny B nails this as well as it seems he will have won a LEGION of fans for life!

man, i REALLY hope Thor has a cameo at the end of Iron Man 2. it would be awesome to show him gliding down in his costume as the last scene in the movie. it would also be an awesome way to get the general audience interested in the Thor movie, as well as a good way to show the world what his costume will look like!

unfortunately, i don't think that will happen...even though it would make a WHOLE lot of sense.

This sounds very good. I can't wait to see it at the Con. Maybe we'll get a glimpse earlier but Marvel has a pretty tight lid on this.

SUH-WEET!!

i still find it funny when people are surprised it translates from comic to film so easily... wish they did that more. keep closer to the original material. like it sounds like branagh is doing with this film.

cant wait to see the pics!!! kinda glad loki has dark hair... it i wll make him look more evil.

I think Loki's helmet might be hard to do without looking kind of silly.
