With a couple of sources already putting the rumor to rest, Anthony Hopkins himself has put out a statement to LA Times.

“I am having the time of my life making Thor with Ken and Chris. They have made every day immensely fun and collaborative, and we're all puzzled that someone would fabricate a story suggesting otherwise. I'm proud to say that Thor has been one of the great experiences of my career.”

no, antonio banderas, but banderas isn't supposed to be beowulf. the leader of the group is, but he isn't the focus. if you watch 13th warrior, and really pay attention to everyone's names, and what happens, its clearly based of beowulf. the only REAL difference is instead of Grendel being one monster, they made him an army of people that eat their dead.

its technically based off michael crichton's book Eaters of the Dead...but his book os based off Beowulf

if you do a little research (it doesn't take much) you'll see what i mean. i was watching 13th warrior, and was like, "hey, i've seen this before, i know this story" lol so i looked into it, and sure enough, its based off beowulf...pretty cool

Hopkins- one of the greatest of all time, the word legend doesn't begin to describe him. Marvel had a blessing when he signed on to play Odin.

Tom O'leary and Jack Johnson say that Hopkins is the man, any one care to argue?

btw, Ron, if and when you read this I'm assuming you'll back me up...I'd hate to volunteer you fisticuffing abilities without your consent. Otherwise i'll have to rely on my own fists, and Tim and Tommy Gun have let me down too many times despite their hyper masculine name.

LEEE, yea, so that's 3 movies in his EPIC career that he's remarked as such on. Coming from Hopkins, that actually says something.
