MAJOR RUMOR: JJ Feild Playing 'Union Jack' In Captain America Movie

MAJOR RUMOR: JJ Feild Playing 'Union Jack' In Captain America Movie

According to the the often deceptive source Of IMDB, Marvel has cast an English actor as the Union Jack in the upcoming Captain America Movie. Check it out!

Source: IMDB

Last year, Marvel Studios' head honcho Kevin Fiege confirmed that the WWII era superhero team The Invaders, would be featured in the entire second half of their much anticipated Captain America: The First Avenger movie. And while filming has been underway for several weeks, the only "Invader" that has an actor named is Bucky Barnes played by Romanian actor Sebastian Stan.

Well according to the often bogus IMDB, Marvel has cast American-born English actor JJ Feild as one of the Invaders' most prominent members; Montgomery Falsworth, Union Jack.

JJ Feild has appeared in several small films & television series. And can be seen playing the role of Simon Doyle in the television series Poirot, and has also appeared in Northanger Abbey alongside Felicity Jones as well as the televised version of The Ruby in the Smoke alongside Billie Piper.

If you don't already know, Montgomery Falsworth was a field marshal in the British army. And his superiors decided to create a guise that would strike terror in enemy hearts as well as rally troops by having Falsworth appear as a personification of the British national flag. Though he was the original, he offered his son Brian the mantle of Union Jack, passing on the legacy.

While you can obviously take this with a grain of salt, Joe Johnston also mentioned a while ago that The First Avenger would include The Invaders six members strong. And the only reason I can think of why Marvel have yet to announce other actors, or confirm Vincent D'onofrio is because they have yet to shoot major scenes of the second half of the film, which I assume will be WWII battle sequences. What do you think?

If true however, Feild joins Chris Evans (Captain America) Hugo Weaving (Red Skull), Tommy Lee Jones (Gen. Chester Philips), Sebastian Stan (Bucky), Stanley Tucci (Abraham Erskine), Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), Toby Jones (Arnim Zola), Dominic Cooper (Howard Stark), Neal McDonough (Dum Dum Dugan), and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), in Joe Johnston direction.

And in 3D, Captain America forces into theaters July 22, next year!

I have no idea who JJ Feild is, but Union Jack kicks ass so I hope he's in the movie.

But it is IMDB, so a grain of salt shall be taken with this, for now.

DCMF: "because they have yet to shoot scenes of the second half of the film, which I assume will be WWII battle sequences"

They are already filming the victory celebration. I'm sure that doesn't take place before the majority of the battlefeild fighting scenes. We may get Red Skull action after V day but not many actual battle scenes.

I'm not familiar with this guy, but just the fact they're planning on including Union Jack is enough to keep me happy! Nice find DCMF! :) Marvel just need to remember to keep things focused on Captain America and Bucky...especially if they plan on exploring the "Winter Soldier" story in future! (and with Sebastian Stan signed on for more than one movie, along with Bucky's huge popularity since he returned, I'd guess that they will!)

@Hawksblueyes

Most movies shoot out of order. I assure you, just because they've shot the V-Day sequence doesn't mean that any of the battles have already been done.

I'll take the casting with a grain of salt, but if true, he doesn't seem like a bad fit.

it would be cool, but some of the larger than life characters (I am thinking Namor primarily) could really muddle the storyline. If these guys were more in the background, or discussed, or even a photo of the Alex Ross Namor/Torch fight would be good enough for me without Namor actually being in the film.

ckal & iconstatic: I understand that completely. Pay attention to what you're reading.

He stated that they have yet to shoot scenes for the second half of the film. I doubt the V-day celebration is going to be in the first half of the film and we have photos of it being filmed.

It would be ironic if Jim Hammond aka "The Original Human Torch" was part of the Invaders.

jusme6 - 8/28/2010, 6:04 AM
As long as they have Namor and the original human torch (love the irony).

I'm thinking it'll be
1. Cap
2. Bucky
3. Union Jack
4. Namor
5. Human Torch
6. Spitfire (they'll feel the need to have at least one girl and that's all we'll get)

Deadpool & 6of13 get credit for me ripping off their lists and ideas in the 2 previous posts. :)

@ ReverendHess: Doubt it man. I don't think we will ever see Falcon in a movie unless they make more Cap movies.
