A couple days ago, we exclusively revealed images from the latest filming spot from the Captain America movie set, in Hampshire, England. And while those images showed a prison in the making & a unique HYDRA tank from a distance, James Firth, a local of the area, managed to get a closer view. In these new images, we can see the now-completed prison grounds, as well as the now-smutted armored tank. Filming took place yesterday, and Paul H, another local, shared info regarding what he saw.

"Late tonight I walked over from g/f's house (2 mins away from Ceaser's camp) and watched either a dress rehearsal or 2 fully filmed takes of tanks, troop carrying vehicles and about 50 "soldiers" storming through the metal fence. There was plenty of flames, gunfire and "bombs" going off. Each take lasted about 25 secs! Cycled through the set tonight with LEDs blazing [during] mid 'storm' scene...hope I didn't mess it up... UPDATE: The good folks over at Marvel Movie News have revealed several more images from the same filming location, revealing several more HYDRA tanks & trailers. And they also include a set report from another local named James.

"Last night was so awesome! They were filming some kind of battle scene. There were hundreds of soldiers in uniform and a handful of HYDRA armoured vehicles driving around. It was so cool. We saw the car as well. It was partly covered but still looked great! We saw all the explosives and pyrotechnics being prepped. (There was a lot of pyrotechnics!)."

Filming at this location is expected to continue today. And in Joe Johnston's direction, Captain America: The First Avenger is set for theaters July 22, next year in 3D! And much thanks to both James', Paul, and Marvel Movie News for these fantastic images.

As much as I love seeing these pictures (they've clearly spent a lot of money on these tank and it'll be interesting to see whether they'll be in the background or part of some sort of amazing battle sequence) I find myself becoming more and more desperate for pictures of the Red Skull and Bucky! :P Good stuff as usual DCMF!

Thanks you guys!

@marvelmovienews LOL, I can be very stupid sometimes.

@Josh, I've wondering how they've managed to shoot these battle scenes without Bucky or the Howling Commandos yet.

They are not tanks, they are Armoured Personnel carriers (FV 432) A British APC from the 1950's (Although still in service). Tanks have tracks (Not treads) and a turret with a main armament (Gun), although not all turreted tracked are tanks either but lets not go there! At least they are of the correct time period.................lol

Why are a lot people having a hard time grasping the fact that this is FANTASY WWII. Did yall not see the picture of Johann Schmidt sitting next to that weird blaster ray? And yall are complaining about the futuristic looking vehicles...

Looks like this is going to be like it is in the Avengers cartoon, with HYDRA being the "bad guys" in WWII instead of the Nazis.

I think its an interesting twist.

I know some will freak out, but its not a big deal to me.

I'm a Captain America fanatic and while I am diggin' the cool Hydra stuff it is starting to become kinda bothersome to me that we have yet to see nary a Nazi, SS trooper or a Swastika anywhere yet.

It would have been great if there was some mention of this in the other prior Marvel movies (Hulk, Iron Man 1 and 2). I hope Marvel's grandiose plan of having all of their characters sharing one universe doesn't backfire, this would be tough monitoring their continuity.

Where are the nazi's damit. I really hope that they stay true to the time period and the comics and reference at least the nazi party/troops. They had Wolverine fighting german soldiers in the opening scenes of Origins for goodness sake....at least they could through in a few German soldiers for Cap and the Howling Comandoes to kick around. Please don't make Hydra another Cobra. The Duke would be really mad about this...and you don't want to piss off the Duke.

@jimoakley666

How does a "freaking laser beam" that vaporizes soldiers come off as too advanced even for sci-fi? It's not like we're seeing anything even remotely close to the tech that Tony Stark uses. Now if we were watching the Red Skull staring at an HDTV screen inside of his brand new 2010 Lamborghini, then that would appear retrospective. But with the tech we've seen, it's obvious that they're going with the high-tech Nazis popularized in fiction and in conspiracy theories. I'm sure the film will "earn" its right to suspension of disbelief, just like Iron Man did. But nobody can know until they've seen the film.

For those who are worried about Hydra being compared to Cobra, remember that Cobra, and the Entire G.I. Joe story, is based on a rejected S.H.I.E.L.D. story Marvel had lying around.

Cobra is based on Hydra and a DC comics group called Kobra.

Baroness is based on Viper/Madame Hydra

Duke is based on a character who would have been the son of Nick Fury.

The list goes on and on, but I presume that Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow were originally going to be Wolverine and Sabertooth before it was rewritten into G.I. Joe.

This movie has grown on me. I'm not a real big Cap fan, but it looks like they're putting the pieaces together nicely for this film.
