No Moving Progress On Nightmare On Elm Street & Friday The 13th Sequels!

Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller, recently reported the progress on sequels for Nightmare On Elm Street & Friday The 13th as a no go, with a little hope. Check it out!

Forget a press release, Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller recently used his Twitter account to update potential sequels for both Nightmare On Elm Street & Friday The 13th reboots. While things aren't looking so good for both slashers' return, check out what Fuller had to say.

"Lots of rumors out there. I want to set the record straight on freddy and Jason. First, let's talk Jason: [Damian] Shannon and [Mark] Swift wrote a great script. We are ready to go, when New Line is ready. But as of yet, they are not ready."

"As for Freddy, as far as I know, there isnt even talk of writing another script. Rated R Horror movies, right now, don't seem to generate interest from the studios. Everyday we want to hear from any studio that they want a horror movie, but it hasn't happened. So right now we are working on a handful of films, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Ouija."

Though I didn't care for the Friday remake, I loved their new direction on the Nightmare On Elm Street. However, seeing as things aren't "ready" for both slashers, I say quit eluding the idea, and get a Freddy Vs. Jason sequel moving. What do you think?

Passing up Freddy and Jason for TMNT? That is F%CKING LAME.

I thought the Nightmare reboot was ok but the Friday the 13th remake was AWESOME. Take all the time they need as long as they do another one correctly.

GOOD those remakes were ****ing horrible, there is only ONE true Freddy and no matter how old he gets he can always play Freddy because Freddy's messed up face

These two movies were so bad!! The studio wants horror movies but not horrible remakes of classic slasher films. There was a reason they had multiple sequels. People liked them and wanted to see more. I for one don't want to see more of this crap. Also I'm not sure about Nightmare, but I know Friday was rated PG13. COME ON!!!!! Let them go and make some original stuff.

Actually there "some kind" of sequel of Freddy Vs. Jason rememmber? In a comic book? It include Ash Williams? I think it will be very cool see the adaptation of the comic on the big screen but, it will be better if they make the remake of Evil Dead first ...

@ Greenlantern1417: the F13 remake was actually a pretty hard R not that the nudity really helped much (though it did help some) but at least it was (almost) watchable. As for Nightmare, JEH was pretty good as a 'more sinister, less playful' Freddy; it's just too bad about EVERYTHING else!!! No, really, these abortions didn't deserve 'life' much less sequels!!! Good riddiance!

Well I had low expectations, both were descent. But yeah, Friday the 13th was the better of the two.

Cheese n rice already!!! these, halloween and rocky...friggin give it a rest already!!... freakin' rocky 9,991 was may fav...but 9.990 wasn't as good as the previous 237, but it was as good as number 9,752. I was skeptical when they rose from the dead in 5,632, but the space boxing in 7,897 was cool, as compared to when they boxed as mermen in 4,187... that was really weak though.

New Line missed their chance big time. A Freddy vs Jason vs Ash movie would have been awesome, but I fear it's way too late for that to happen now. If anyone has read the comic series then you know how well it would have worked on screen.

Jackie was excellent as Freddy, but the rest of the movie was as bad as it could be. No character development, and endless 'jump out at 'cha' scares.

This coulda been great, but bad writing, lame unmemorable hero characters, tanked this movie.

F13 was good enough.
