Update For Superman Female Lead Casting?

Coming from the source who revealed the first slew of actresses considered for Zack Snyder's Superman female lead, Kristina Anapau talks shortly, while an anonymous source offers an update.

The folks over at What's Playing have managed to talk with a couple of sources close to the production of Zack Snyder's Superman, including actress Kristina Anapau, who recently reveled interest & hints that she auditioned for the female lead. The site also spoke to their WB "contact", who offers a bit of an update.

Firstly, chatting with actress Kristina Anapau, she says:
“I don’t know what I can tell you - you’re very warm…all of the names on your previous list were or are still in the running for this role last I heard. They’re swaying between big names and smaller names. I can’t tell you specifics of the role - I don’t know what I can say, sorry”.

And on to their WB contact, who says he hasn't read the script so don't know what role these ladies are fighting for. When senselessly asked whether Variety's recent contenders were true, hes says:
“Things are changing every day on that movie - things changed a lot when a British Superman was cast. What’s happening here is the filming location may be dictating the casting. Did you notice none of those girls you just mentioned are Americans? I don’t think it’s got as much to do with them not wanting to overshadow Superman, as that article suggests… “I don’t know if [Kristen Stewart] tested, but they were interested in her at one point. It was common knowledge. I think the conversations went mute when Snow White was put on the table - you can’t be chasing two projects of that size at the same time.”

Anyhow, Henry Cavill will lead as The Man Of Steel, scheduled for big-screen Mid-December, commencing production in August.

No way she's in the running, except in her own mind. It's between Mila Kunas and Olivia Wilde. I would say Kunas, just because I think she's on the verge of blowing up. Way better actress than I ever would have thought. On the cusp of Superbowl Sunday, who wants to bet?

Guason- Very nice choices, in fact Jaime would be a very good choice of actress for Lois :)

Why is everybody ranting and raving about this, if you read all the reports you will know that there might not even be a Lois in the film, they are re-booting completely, so lets just wait and see what happens..........

I know it's hard for any Superman fan, not wanting to find out plot and cast, but they cast a good superman (as far as looks go) also we have to trust Zack because he pulled watchman out the bag, (which i didn't think was possible) and with Nolan helping as well i truly hope it's going to be great, like 1-2 as long as they keep the fundamentals.

i thought nolan's wife came out and said that he won't really have much to do with the superman movie because he will be to busy directing batman 3?

boogaloo- Lois IS a fundamental and regardless if they are "rebooting" completely, they still shouldn't be "re-inventing" completely. There's an ocean of difference there.

How much does it suck that Rachel McAdams may be out of the running because she may quote unqoute "overshadow" the lead star?? Surely it should simply be about who is honestly best suited for the part, her chemistry with Clark/Superman etc! Not about how established the actress is...sigh...

I think its safe to say that every chick in hollywood at some point will be considered for a part in this film.

might as well throw Emmy Rossum's name into the mix.
Emmy Rossum.

@Shaman- I couldn't agree more! Lois HAS to be in this film. Doesn't have to neccessarily be the main love interest but at least as a side character. Leaving her and Luthor out of the film wouls be terrible

i'm with Intruder - I'm thinking they are making a movie about a different part of Supes life and in my opinion that would be refreshing rather than doing an origin OR they could just do a good Superman story being we all know the origin - could be like the Incredible Hulk where the movie starts and the character is already on the run and established.

Michelle Monaghan is a good Lois Lane, equal to Jennifer Carpenter. ...

Sarah Wayne Callies is good Lana Lang, in my opinion

To me, an ENTIRE film without Superman ever getting to Metropolis would be the same as if Batman Begins had ONLY taken place while Bruce was abroad, finding himself and not even getting back to Gotham. Sups needs Metropolis AND to be it's and Lois' savior. I'm not against having his film showcase his early life before he got to Metropolis in the first half, but let's not follow in Smallville's footsteps and wait too long before getting to the juicy stuff. So what if Lois is only introduced halfway into this, but let's not leave her out completely.

@Intruder- Not really. At some point he will be Supes and most likely will get to Metropolis in the film. Lois CAN appear. Definitely Luthor can too. Esp if Snyder goes with Luthor's rebooted origin from "Birthright"

I choose Jennifer Love Hewitt to play Lois Lane and she does has the looks.

Also I casted Bruce Greenwood/Diane Keaton to play Lois's Dad & Mom General Sam & Ellen Lane and also I casted Mischa Barton to play Lois's sister Lucy
