We learned 24 hours ago that the action-oriented
Lethal Weapon director Shane Black was in contention to helm Marvel Studios' forthcoming
Iron Man 3 film. And now the folks over at
The Wrap has gotten confirmation from Black himself, essentially commenting on his involvement.
"Nothing has been decided yet," Black told TheWrap on Thursday. "I've taken a few meetings and I'll probably take a few more before Marvel decides."
If Black were to be hired to helm
Iron Man 3, whose story is being kept under wraps, he would also be writing the script. It'll also show that the 49 year old, whose last major film was 2005's
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, which starred Robert Downey Jr., still has what it takes.
And being that Downey revealed prior to the release of
Iron Man, that he sought out advice from Shane Black on Tony Stark's direction, I'm positive he could bring back that spark that was somehow lost in the sequel. What do you think of Black making a comeback with
Iron Man 3?
While theres more undisclosed contenders to helm,
Iron Man 3 is slated for release May 3, 2013!
