Lucas Till Confirms X-Men: First Class' Havok Brotherly Relations With Cyclops!

Chatting recently with Just Jared Jr., up & coming actor Lucas Till, 'Havok' of Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class prequel, speaks shortly on his role. Essentially on the 'brother' relation with Cyclops originating in the comics & sustaining in the X-Men cinematic universe, Lucas says:

“I definitely remember wanting to be Wolverine, but Havok is a great consolation prize. I can shoot energy beams out of my entire body, and I’m the brother of Cyclops. Havok has always historically been the brother with more potential, bu because he has less control over his powers, he has always been secluded and separated.”

Anyhow, starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, January Jones, and Kevin Bacon, X-Men: First Class is set to open in theaters June 3! What do you think?

Great find DCMF! The comic book continuity may still be more than a little dodgy, but this is a step in the right direction! :)

Yeah!!! However, this totally conflicts with an interview with him (posted on here last week if I remember) where he said Havok is Cyke's father in the x-men cinematic universe

I still would have rather seen a total reboot but at least this is another step in the right direction. I've gone from total condemnation to "intrigued"

Stop hating. Lucas till sounds like he is familiar with x men stuff, he describes Havok the best so far and more close to comic book charactor. Badass and cool/ power Havok is going in the big movie-- that matters the most to me. Other actors talked about why their characters become who they are, or their cloths or skin painting ect.
By the way, the X men first class trailer looks epic !

Ryguy88 - 2/21/2011, 5:56 PM
NOPE! HE'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THE OLDER BROTHER! THAT MEANS THIS WILL BE A BAD MOVIE FOR SURE..... BECAUSE THEY CHANGED HIS AGE! AND REMEMBER THAT TWILIGHT TALK A WHILE BACK?...WELL YEAH, THEY MENTIONED TWILIGHT OR SOMETHING..... SO IT'S GONNA SUCK FOR SURE! HAZAAAAAAAAAAW!

Among an abominable franchise with the story arc of madness, I'd say this is good news that won't be NEARLY enough to change the equation on the film's quality. Despite the trailer looking good, it changes nothing, ultimately. Fox is still...

I think people get so mad that cyclops is not in X men First class movie, the movie is different from comic book first class, why is that big deal. Fans still can read the first class comic book and still enjoy watch badass first class movie. Now we have more cool characters appear in big movie screen, I think I appreciate those actors' hard work. Serious, cyclops and wolverine ect already in the first 3 x movies, cyclops/jean/iceman/storm ect were already in X Men Cartoon back then, why repeat them again as teenage/love story in college like cartoon ?

Diodoro - 2/21/2011, 6:10 PM
so they're basically replacing all of the old cast with knock offs. Havok is Cyce(concussive blast) Azreal is Nightcrawler- and The White Queen is Storm (hot ass)....oh well, doesn't really mean its gonna suck.
ManThing
ManThing - 2/21/2011, 6:20 PM
Consolation prize? lol Havok ain't no slouch. There's no shame whatsoever in playing a character with that much power

@ Comic1: it's because it's not the historical first class. That's like saying your making a movie about Buggs Bunny, and then actually making it about Daffy Duck.

To some people that really matters, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

This movie is going to suck so bad! I love seeing pictures of this teeny bopper crap. Origin stories are unnecessary, especially rehashing the same ones over and over.

i didn't know that,i don't read anything ultimate.

i agree with you 100%,its so wrong.

This movie is crappola!@ FOX X-movies are so
inconsistent between them and in comparison to the
canon it's just plain stupid and silly!

Hypothetical: if the messed up timeline is explained by either forge, cable or apocalypse time traveling and changing something or moving people into another timeline (not that it likely will be) but if it was would that be a satisfactory explanation to connect the timelines? I'm meaning like a star trek like mess with time kinda change...
LOL

Funny he's saying that Havok is still supposedly Scot's brother in the movie - when he's practically OLD enough to be his dad - their old man musta been pretty good in a time when viagra was barely invented to shoo Scot in in time for the first X-Men film - much less the mom. Gonna LOVE to see how they're gonna explain that one in the movie... especially when their dad supposedly disappeared on them in their infancy back in canon comics.
Ryguy88
Ryguy88 - 2/21/2011, 6:53 PM
Juggs, how is that? This movie is not called "Cyclops." Do people really want the main X-men characters to be confined to the 60's? I think that it makes total sense that they bring in the big guns later on and have them around in present times.
