Reported on the "foolish" day the month from Latino Review,
Deadline now confirms that Universal Pictures wants
The Hurt Locker actor Jeremy Renner to takeover as lead of their Tony Gilroy-directed
The Bourne Legacy film.
The search is over. Universal Pictures has formally offered Jeremy Renner the lead role in the Tony Gilroy-directed The Bourne Legacy. Hes expected to sign on quickly to play a new character in the spinoff film that begins production in September.
Before taking over the Matt Damon-driven spin-off, Renner, 40, will be appearing in
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, in which he plays a similar "operative" role,
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, and
The Avengers, which commences filming next week. Although,
THR seems to think scheduling may conflict.
Also, other actor Universal strongly tested include Dominic Cooper, Taylor Kitsch, Garrett Hedlund, Luke Evans, and Renner's
Hurt Locker co-star Anthony Mackie.
