X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men. Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, and January Jones, the film released June 3!

Beast looks so much better in the final movie! and a lot better than in X3, he finally looks more like in the comics and not just a hairy blue man like Kelsey Grammar was.

(: I loved the detail they put into Emma Frosts diamond form! :D looks perfect, like a work of art

Why doesn't the beast have on any pants? Eww. But those hand designs look really cool, but more like his later mutation

@CherryBomb: Till about ten years ago Beast was exactly like in X3, he had a secondary mutation at the start of Grant Morriosn's run in 2002 that made him more "beastly".

Not as good as the Concept Designs that were posted yesterday but still very interesting...i thought Azazel's earlier designs (posted yesterday) were spot on, but instead they went with a expensive fancy dress look :S

the last pic of beast looks pretty good, they [frick]ed up beast in both x-men movie he's been make up wise. The actors have been good at portraying him but the make up and prothetics don't really help. and Havoks energy charge looks much cooler in the concept than the red hoops he has in the movie.

I'm glad they didn't use that first Beast design. He's ugly as a mofo! The 3rd one is the best.

@DetBullock Beast looks a lot better like an actual 'animal' IMO :)
but yeah I know, your right, his more beastly form suits a lot better.

@Idoit4lolz And Lol, good point!

That first beast pic is pretty f'n freaky. Like something I would see at the foot of my bed in a nightmare as a kid.

Anyone read the last couple Astonishing X-Men comics? They're are getting way too out of hand with Beast. He looks like a blue Klingon in those issues.

Some of the beasts designs are good, most are just horrid.'

the last two look amazing.

Also the havok designs would have been sweet if they had used them in the film.

I liked the look they had for Best, I just don't think the actual prosthetics job was well done. You could see his real mouth under the fake lips at times!

@CherryBomb: I agree with you but I was pointing out that it can't be said that beast wasn't like in the comics in X-3.

@LOGANXX35: I grew up with the cartoon too, but I began reading X-men comics with Morrison's New X-men TPs a couple of years ago so I appreciate the new look as well.
Personally I try to avoid superhero comics from the 90s unless they are written by James Robinson, Grant Morrison or similar writers, and, besides, I don't even particularly like the "Image style" used by many artists of that decade...

I really like these designs. They're pretty faithful to the comics, with the exception of Emma Frost's clothes turning into diamonds as well. As for Beast, the first picture is kinda weird, but the last two pictures are pretty spot on. Haha. And they should've used that concept for Havok's powers in the movie. It's very similar to the way it looks in the comics...

Guys, just saw the movie yesterday.

It rocks. It is really a good movie, but for me is too distant from X2 (the best yet).

Some things worked very well, like Xavier and Magneto (they are really, really awesome). But other things just sucked, like Alex Summers, Angel, the silent guy that makes hurrycanes, the Xavier/Mistique relationship and the transformed/mutated Beast.

I give the movie three stars. A good X-Men adaptation/version, like the ultimate comics.

If they bring Cyclops, Jean, Bob and Warren for the next, it will be perfect.

ya I agree man I liked the Kelsey Grammar Beast too
The beast in First Class was alright but his voice never changed when he pushed his mutation...he still had that nerdy voice :/
at least Kelsey grammar looked & sounded like the REAL Beast

Try not to lose your shit man. Beast has looked Cat-like for OVER 10 YEARS now in the comics. Get used to it.

I really don't understand why Havok's powers didn't look like those concept designs up there. It would've been MUCH cooler than red hula-hoops and a chest beam.

Ancar Jean, Scott, Bobby and Angel can not come in yhe next because they are found for Xavier much later.. Angel for exemple never met the X-Men till X3 in FOX timeline

You know, I'm not one for pointing out stupid things in movies that are hardly noticable, but.... Beast's feat were hands WTF, I mean come on that was kinda weird, he had fingers for toes! And his transformation was way to quick, but that didn't bother me as much as Magneto's and Xavier's relationship, It was really good, but it was way to short, like they knew each other only for 2 weeks. But here's to a decent film, I rather enjoyed, though I wanted to hate it, but my favorite team was at the screen,I hope there's a sequel, or possibly a X-Men 4 with apocalypse, but hey, chances are that I'll be dead before that film comes to theaters. X-Men for the next 100 years!

@LordHuck Not that I'm disagreeing with you, but that's only in like 3 different series, most comics, he looks like what Beast should look like.

I liked the "hands for feet" look and not much else from the movie. but these designs for Beast... The first one wouldve freaked fans out. THe last 2 were very much his Avengers and then 90's X-Men looks which I love. Either wouldve made me happy but the last would be better suited to stay aligned with X3.

In that pic from gambitfreak, Beast was not a cat face like, the shape of his face was completly human like, he was just bue and hairy, w/ some hair on his forehead.. the nose became like cat muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch later in the 2000`s like a second mutation, same w/ Emma`s diamond skin
