Thanks to the keen eye of fellow CBMer Zarina Romanoff, a new French poster for Marvel and Joe Johnston's Captain America: The First Avenger film has hit the net. With an expected poor quality, a new look at Howling Commandos' Gabe Jones & Montgomery Falsworth is offered, as well Peggy Carter and the First Avenger himself, check it below.



Captain America: The First Avenger focuses on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes and Peggy Carter to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull. Starring Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Atwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Stanley Tucci and Hugo Weaving, the film releases July 22, 2011.

Looks like it could be "ok". Highly doubt it will succeed globally. First Class is the cbm of the summer, anything voted highter than it, would be a farce.

I liked the last poster because it was intentionally cheesy looking, like a '70s poster of a 1940's adventure film.

This one tries for the same, not quite nailing it.

Am I the only one going to point out that that's the exact same Cap pose from the INT Poster, or are we just going to ignore that?

Ed Brubaker wrote an issue where Cap talks about how brave the French underground resistance was when he fought alongside them, just to make up for Ultimate Cap's "A on my head" gag. I like the Ultimates, the first volume anyway, but Ultimate Cap is a huge asshole.

That said, I laughed my ass off the first time I read it. Not fair, but still funny.

@jjmeylar No, that's something Deadpool could say, but not Steve Rogers, you don't mock the people you come to rescue.
Cap wouldn't say that and Ultimate Cap shouldn't have said that either. Millar messed up on this one (and DUH of course an "A" can't be the 1st letter of France).

I'll disagree on "would" because although Ultimate Cap isn't as nice as the traditional Cap (ex: "parachutes are for sissies"), he still has displayed strong moral values (kicking Hank Pym's ass).
But we're on the same page, for sure.
