Hot off the heels of Twentieth Century Fox's X-Men: First Class sequel release date announcement, today seems to be quite a productive for movie distributors. According to Exhibitor Relations, Walt Disney Pictures has moved up the release date of Marvel Studios' Thor sequel, and pushed back Gore Verbinski‘s The Lone Ranger.
These new particular dates come in the wake of the
announcement that Fox and Warner Bros.' former Entertainment Chief Alan Horn is now chairman of The Walt Disney Studios. What do you think?
Exploring Thor's relationship with the Asgardian all-father Odin, as well earthbound companion Jane Foster, “Thor 2” follows the God of Thunder to other worlds beyond Asgard and earth. With the Warriors Three tagging along, among other Asgardian warriors, more mythical Norse creatures are expected. “Thor 2” stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Mads Mikkelsen, Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander, Josh Dallas, Tadanobu Asano, and Ray Stevenson. Alan Taylor (“Game of Thrones”) takes over directorial duties from Kenneth Branagh, who helmed the first “Thor” film. And “Thor 2” hits theaters November 15, 2013.
