The second day of prowling the set, yesterday, onlookers eagerly awaiting sightings of Iron Man 3 stars finally caught a little action unfolding on the Cary, North Carolina set. While various sources have detailed the scenes filmed, Reel Movie Nation spotted Iron Patriot, who was first outed during filming in Wilmington.
"Me and a few friends were at Epic Game from 6am-6pm. We spotted RDJ three times walking around dribbling a basketball and reading a script. They filmed inside the WHOLE time until the last 30 minutes we were there they filmed a scene with 3 soldiers shooting firearms. And yes, it really was RDJ his identity was confirmed to us by a Marvel employee." - via Kristen from On Location Vacation
"We joined the crowd and peered at what we could see of a scene being shot. We saw it’s during Christmas (complete with fake snow), and there were people in army uniforms shooting guns!" via Nautics
"Shortly after shooting outside, crew members began moving upstairs for another scene, and I saw a very familiar figure through the window. That’s right. Iron Patriot was at AIM! What he was doing there is anybody’s guess." - via Reel Movie Nation
Regarding where filming will occur next, WECT reports that the Iron man 3 production crew will be back in Wilmington next week. Issuing a permit to film at the National Gypsum on Sunnyvale Drive for several days, 91 extras and 3 cast members will be involved in the scenes. The scenes are described as "exterior building scenes involving special effects and stunts." Check out the photos from yesterday's shoot below!
UPDATE: As mentioned directly above, next week's filming will return the production to Wilmington, NC. And now NBC-17 news have sighted set preparations at the location, hinting that the shoot will double for China!
