Zachary Levi Now Confirms Playing Fandral In THOR 2; Says He'll Be At Comic-Con

In addition to verifying that he's taking over the role of Fandral the Dashing in THOR 2, Chuck star Zachary Levi has seemingly confirmed he'll be able to promote the sequel at Comic-Con!

While not being able to comment on the matter just yesterday, comedian Chuck actor Zachary Levi proudly confirmed today that he'll be replacing Josh Dallas in the dashing role of Fandral in Marvel's Alan Taylor-directed Thor sequel. In addition, during his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Levi seemingly confirms he'll appear at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend to promote the film. Watch the two videos embedded below!

While some Thor 2 updates should be expected during Marvel Studios' Iron Man 3 panel this weekend, Zachary saying "we got a big event this weekend [at comic-con]" alludes to the possibility that the sequel's entire cast may be among "surprise guests" mentioned in the press release. Do you think Zachary Levi spoiled the big surprise?

Exploring Thor's relationship with the Asgardian all-father Odin, as well earthbound companion Jane Foster, “Thor 2” follows the God of Thunder to other worlds beyond Asgard and earth. With the Warriors Three tagging along, among other Asgardian warriors, more mythical Norse creatures are expected. “Thor 2” stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Mads Mikkelsen, Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, and Ray Stevenson. Alan Taylor (“Game of Thrones”) takes over directorial duties from Kenneth Branagh, who helmed the first “Thor” film. And “Thor 2” hits theaters November 15, 2013.

I bet, considering Hopkins hasn't seen his script yet, that Fandral's role will be increased because of Levi joining.

@TheTaskmaster I hope he does grow a 'stache. I wasn't feeling the baby face look in THOR. Hopefully, like how Thor's and Loki's hair length was longer in The Avengers, the others will have some changes this time around.

@DCMarvel I agree he didn't really have that Mongolian look goin on and that's part of what makes him look so awesome.

Too bad Dallas is not returning; he's shown how nice an actor he is in Once Upon a Time. (Plus, he has the looks.) I'd really like to see more of Fandral (and the Warriors Three) with him in the role. Ah, well. Levi shouldn't be bad, anyway!

Josh Dallas was good as Fandral. Zachary Levi will be just as good i reckon.

^^^ I never understood how they could take a Norse God and place him in a desert scene. They literally could have placed him in any setting and not changed a thing about the script. Putting him in the Pacific Northwest would have given that movie the vibe it needed instead of the [frick]ing desert.

This one is supposed to be centered on Asgard, so I hope that does mean there will be more screen time for the Warriors Three.

valeriesghost@ Different strokes, but I liked the fact they took him from the extreme of the frost giants to the desert of New Mexico.

SS@ New Mexico is actually a beautiful state overall and they also have some great incentives for filming there. The Santa Fe area has a great vibe and beauty surrounding it. A lot of actors have homes in the mountains surrounding Santa Fe.

Now if whoever is playing the villain can confirm their role... I don't really care if he's in the movie, but he's kind of a disappointing first casting announcement

If you read J. Michael Stracynski's run on Thor, it took place in a desert-like setting. I forget where exactly (it wasn't New Mexico though) but I'm pretty sure New Mexico was chosen because of this. The movie clearly took direct influences from this run.

Oh nice. I really like Thor I. I watched to many times. Diary of Madman by Ozzy. Led Zeppelin The Song Remains the Same concert from New York in 73. A shit load of powerful ass mushrooms and probably hundreds of viewings of Thor. The scenes from that movie are so awesome. I guess that's one way to handle getting divorce. Beat my head against the wall running round in circles again. . . . I'm fading away
Generally don't read (text) but gonna get book 1984 and probably The Dark Knight Returns.
