Now that principal photography has wrapped, there's over five months of anticipation remaining before Marvel's Iron Man 3 crisis thriller soars into theaters. And beyond marketing efforts, the coming months will also scrutinize our ability to avoid heavy spoilers. While there's already spoilers aplenty, StarNewsOnline's lengthy coverage of the Shane Black-helmed threequel shooting primarily in Wilmington, North Carolina has uncovered details for an explosive action sequence.
“Furniture restoration company Master Craftsmen Services has created nearly 10 different set pieces for the film. Designers there upholstered furniture for billionaire playboy Stark's mansion, including a bed, sofas, chaise lounges, ottomans and chairs, owner Ed Mayorga said. The company also upholstered about 22 theater seats that will be digitally replicated to create an entire theater on-screen. The theater will then appear to have been bombed during a terrorist attack in Afghanistan.”
This scene's description seemingly connects with a past set report, which claimed an abandoned cement factory has doubled for an Afghanistan village market in the film that'll come under drone attack. And also Robert Downey Jr. was reportedly on set for the shoot, and suited up in his armor.
Stumbling upon Master Craftsmen Services' Facebook page, the company offered a photo picturing the theater chairs upholstered just for Iron Man 3, as described above. And in other news related to the highly-anticipated film, CBM's own @nailbiter111 came across an unofficial Iron Man 3 memorabilia set. Supposedly consisting of surgical instruments used as props, as seen briefly in last month's trailer, check it out on Ebay here! Anyhow, what do you think?
