Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne (credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

In addition to “Thor: The Dark World”, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on more iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel (title TBA) on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

@LEVITIKUZ or Marvel could be just testing the waters. See how their movies do when it's not a summer release.

@ LEVITIKUZ

There are a lot of blockbusters that do well in the fall and winter months, I do find it funny that IM3 is a christmas movie released in the summer.

I think it is time that we get over it, they are obviously not going to use his helmet regularly or even in battle. This is still the definitive depiction of the Son of Odin.

Chris "Thor" Hemsworth looks awesome. I like how they put the armor on the pants, making it look more like the Oliver Copiel's (i think thats how you spell his last night) design. I cant wait to see the trailer for this.

Love this, great how they keep upgrading and improving the suit and look.

As for the helmet, it seems it was a ceremonial helmet for when he was becoming the king of Asgard? So maybe when they decide to kill off Odin (which could be this movie).

Who says they are filming a scene where he bangs his hammer on the ground and lightning flares up , every scene of Thor ever . Well we need a lot more lightning in the movies and he only hit the ground once so far .

@LEVITIKUZ

yeah, i agree with you. i don't think they have all that much in the way of confidence for those two. but i think they'll do well, considering how big a hit avengers was. and then in phase 3, they'll be given better dates when they're proven.

Awesome costume and cape!!! I think when Thor gets crowned king at the end of the movie then he'll wear the helmet since its rumored that his dad is the major character who gets killed at the end

Is there a rumor going around that Odin will die in this movie??? How do you kill Odin and why would they do that before they show that he is the big dawg in the Marvel U.

I could do without that little hair tie he's sporting. Can't believe that was added & the helmet taken away.

Love the armor on the pants though.

Hemsworth has took to the Thor role brilliantly, wasn't sure when they first announced it as I can remember him in an Australian soap lol but he has been Marvels best signing.

@genesis609...True dat!! Three Marvel movies a year would be awesome, it would over-saturate the market and movie goers would get sick of them, but awesome to us fans.
