Expected to wrap closer to Christmas next month, principal photography for Marvel's Thor: The Dark World is still very much underway, in London. And the latest videos feature more of the God of Thunder's battle with the Dark Elves and their evil ruler, Malekith. Check them out below!

Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne (credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

In addition to “Thor: The Dark World”, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on more iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel (title TBA) on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

With editing and special effects, this could be great... Not so sure about the battleground though, would have appreciated a more .. well, battleground-ier place to fight.

Man this looks really good, I can't wait to see this. Thought it was interesting how they managed to get all their shots in one take in the first video.

@MyInnerDork - guess he meant by "battleground-ier" a more war-torn place.

I'm cool with what we see so far. Looks awesome.

AND THAT [frick]IN RED LIGHT AGAIN! What's that? Why it flashes when Malekith attacks or defends agains Mjolnir attacks?

Oh, those scenes were pretty great to watch especially how Malekith is going up against Thor single-handedly. But if he was using a Power Gem, I would have my mind blown. I do think it'd be even cooler if they explored all the gems in the movies coming out Phase 2.

Damn! Malekith must be one [frick]ing powerful Dark Elf. Not only he can stop Thor´s hammer but he trows Thor himself in the air.

Hope they doesnt forgot Kurse. Thor needs to have big fight with Kurse too.

Looks freaking great. I wish this came out in June or July instead of November :/. The power gem makes sense see how Malekith is throwing Thor around like a rag doll and blocking Mjolnir with his hands.

@Jeffrys, If they do mention all the Infinity Gems in all the Phase 2 movies, I wonder how they would fit them in the more grounded Iron Man 3 and Captain America: TWS? And by "grounded" I mean they're not fighting aliens or cosmic stuff.

These clips are pretty intense. Like quite a few people above are saying, malekeith isnt that strong in the comics to go hand to hand against thor, so him having the power gem makes sense. but is he still working for Surtur. Is Surtur the mysterious enemy older than the universe itself?

@Ace101
I'm betting that the "enemy older than the universe itself" is Thanos. That's how he provided Loki with "ancient knowledge".

Lord Loki has spoken

Ace101 - 11/29/2012, 2:34 AM
@Loki668 but this such a perfect opportunity to set up surtur which would then give cause to herald the arrival of beta ray bill >.< yea i like thanos but i also like surtur.

In an interview Chris Eccleston named the film "Thor Dark Skies" ... Pardon?
Fogs
Fogs - 11/29/2012, 11:03 AM
@Dionysios - Man, I don't think (in the cinematic universe) even Hulk could block a Mjolnir attack with a punch like Malekith does there. And everytime he does a red flash comes up (you can see it better in previous images / videos), and he seems to 'evoke' the red energy before fighting Thor. Of course this is just speculation but makes sense to me (and in the end the Thanos speculation was true).
NightForce
NightForce - 12/3/2012, 5:37 PM
The enemy that predates the universe itself is more likely Surtur. Thanos isn't older than the universe if I remember correctly.
