Following yesterday's announcement that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are reprising their ‘Professor Charles Xavier’ & ‘Magneto’ roles respectively, it seems X-Men: Days of Future Past will see another actor's return from the original X-Men trilogy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hugh Jackman is in negotiations to reprise his ‘Wolverine’ role in the Bryan Singer-directed sequel.

This expected news comes only a week after Hugh Jackman officially wrapped production on the James Mangold-directed solo venture for the mutant, The Wolverine, which is due out in theaters July 26, 2013. Anyhow, Jackman joins Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Jason Flemyng and Ian McKellen with Patrick Stewart. And with more cast additions to be announced, X-Men: Days of Future Past reportedly commences filming in Spring next year. And Bryan Singer directs the time travel adaptation into theaters on July, 18 2014. What do you think?

I'd be surprised if he wasn't in this movie. He's the most popular X-Man amongst the general public and would help bring in people to see X-Men:DOFP. Fox isn't missing out on a chance like that.

Great now theres a pretty good chance this will just become another "Wolverine and Friends" except this time it will be called "Wolverine and Brokeback Mutants".

My guess is,

at the end of the wolverine, Wolverine will go through some emotional arc and realize how [frick]ed up things got because of the events of last stand.

He will want to find a way to travel in time to fix all that shit, thereby letting him meet with the first class gang. Then, the future gang will work with them too

This is necessary. Like it or not, you can't have any kind of "Days of Future Past" story without Wolverine playing a major role - and not just some kind of crappy cameo.

I don't like that Singer is bringing back the old cast and making them more like his X-films. First Class was a reboot and felt fresh and different, so why are we getting the same cast? I liked the new Charles, Erik and so on.

I really hope this doesn't become the one man mutant show starring Wolverine again with Singer in the director chair. And this coming from a guy who loves Wolverine second to Gambit.

P.S. Can we get a proper Gambit this time? Maybe Old Man Gambit? That be awesome.

I also have a horrible feeling Singer will use Jean Grey to send Wolverine into the past since he is obsessed with them. There are already rumors that JeanGrey will appear at the end of The Wolverine.

Ohhhhh mannn the X-men universe is getting crazy. I didn't care for the first four X-Men movies, here's hoping that this Wolverine movie can start a trend of good x-men movies.

I think it's actually the haters' fault that Singer is back.

So many people bitched about how the continuity is inconsistent with both Origins and First Class, so Singer's back to try to fix it all with Days of Future Past.

Looks like they're taking the going back in time to change the past route to fix everything.

Which is lame. And it's all the haters' fault. Good job, morons.
