Sebastian Stan & Scarlett Johansson Amped For CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

Seemingly the first we've heard from both actors about reprising their Marvel roles in Captain America: The Winter Soldier Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson recently verbalized their excitement.

Beyond having roles in Marvel's cinematic universe, Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson have something else in common: they're both currently performing in classic Broadway shows and are excited to return to film, reprising their Bucky Barnes and Black Widow roles in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. While Stan was promoting the play Picnic, he commented on his expanded role in the Marvel sequel, via Broadway.com. And Johansson was under promotional duties for the play Cat On a Hot Tin Roof when she did the same with CBS Sunday Morning yesterday; vid' below.

“I’m completely excited to venture down that path. This is why January 1, 2013, was a glorious day to wake up to [laughs]. I’m very grateful and very lucky for what’s going on right now. I think you have to allow yourself to be excited about the magnitude of something like [Cap 2].”

Marvel Studios’ “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where the highly anticipated film “Marvel’s The Avengers” leaves off, as Steve Rogers continues his affiliation with Nick Fury and the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D, and struggles to embrace his role in the modern world. Starring Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Frank Grillo, Cobie Smulders with Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson, and directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and is scheduled for release on April 4, 2014.

So it is beyond speculation now that SHIELD plays a role in Cap 2 with scarjo and SamJack confirming it, good i was hoping that was the case. Still waiting on Renner though, i hope he gets in on this because while he was great in Avengers his role got downsized the most

The First Avenger was good, and I'm hoping this is too. A lot of people assume that Avengers was Cap's first appearance though...

This is defintely the most anticipated MCU film on my list. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is, like most of CBMers said, based on one of the best Cap storylines in Marvel Comics--so here's to it making it big times in the B.O. The thing that I am most looking forward to seeing in this film is Cap's, Falcon's, and Winter Soldier's suit for the film. I am just pumped to see what they have done with them. And I gotta see some good [frick]ing action sequences with SHIELD agents, Cap vs Winter Soldier, some rivalry going on between Winter Soldier and Crossbones, Cap vs Crossbones, and of course Falcon better have good enough screen time during the film (along with Redwing). I don't know a whole lot of the Russo Bros. and the type of film genres they direct, but I have faith that they won't disappoint. ;)

Stay EPIC, my friends!

@MARVELPSYCHO79 - Agreed. And don't forgot a domino mask. Or at least some sort of military goggles of some kind. Shouldn't be difficult for them to adapt his suit into the film.

"This is why January 1, 2013, was a glorious day to wake up to [laughs]... because I'm totally getting paid to make out with Scarlett Johansson."

I hope she has longer hair again in Winter Soldier. She looked so much better as Natasha in Iron Man 2. Flashbacks?

Now that I think of it, something else of Scarlett's was bigger in Iron Man 2, but I can't put my finger on it. (Because of the restraining order.)

I doubt Winter Soldier Bucky will have a mask. It's not like anybody would recognize him in the unlikely event they survived meeting him. He's an assassin.

I'm most curious to see how they'll make Falcon not look stupid. Especially with Anthony Mackie playing him.

I'm just not seeing it.

In Captain America 3, Falcon will be played by Don Cheadle.
TheAmazingSpidey63
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 1/14/2013, 12:16 PM
@MARVELPSYCHO79 - Oh, indeed, my friend. Cap and Black Widow will most likely have some new upgrades and changes to their suits (may it be big or small), but I am just hoping Cap gets something similar to that drawing we got of him a few months back (I can't seem to find it, though). All I know is that drawing of Cap's suit was gold. Epic, in many words. :)

Winter Soldier will probably be easy to adapt onto the BIG screen. Military suit along with his bio-mechanical arm and his mask. Maybe something somewhat similar to this...

Falcon's suit is another thing that I am very curious about. Might they go along with the 616's version of it, or the Ultimates' version? Maybe a mix of both, perhaps?

And for Crossbones, all I know is that they got to do either this....

Or this....

All in all, really pumped for this. :)
TheAmazingSpidey63
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 1/14/2013, 12:20 PM
@batz - Agreed. I'm aiming more towards that instead of them choosing one design from one particular version of the character. I can see that working well. And don't forget [frick]ing Red wing, d@mmit!

Even if it'll be a cameo from the little guy, I still wouldn't mind. But I still prefer him being somewhat a part of the film. In some way.

I loved Cap 1. I thought it was a great movie. But this is shaping up to blow that out of the water. Cap, Winter Soldier, Black Widow, Falcon, Winter Soldier and Crossbones? It seems like a lot, but really, in the first Cap, he lead a whole platoon of guys. So I think this cast will fit together nicely. I guess no Hawkeye though. And I know you have Winter Soldier and Crossbones in bad guy roles, but I wonder who the heavy will be. Who's gonna be pulling the strings? Zemo? Strucker? Paste Pot Pete? Okay, I'm kidding on that last one. NO WAY FOX would let Marvel have Paste Pot Pete.

Good... was starting to worry if Sabastian Stan was even in the movie, but im really Stoked to see the Winter Soldiers final look with the cybernetic arm, mask, and long hair and all.

Falcons costume has to be bad ass although I can't imagine how they're going to do it, I guess they're Going to use some sort of backpack and have the wings transform outward Ironman style? Probably based on some of Ironmans tech

@Uni - LoL, yeah, bro. That hot b!tch is more expensive than a d@mn hooker down in L.A. [Frick]ing cheap a-holes..... :P
As for, CA: TWS, we do need to see more agile, athletic, super-soldier feats done by Cap. And as you've said, Tim Roth, during that scene between Blonsky and Hulk, gave us a great example of the feats performed by him. I would really like to see more of that with Cap. And the storyline that they're going with for this film is really one of the best I've read. So fingers crossed to hoping that they stuck close with the storyline. I am just looking forward to seeing how they handle everything in terms of stunt choreography, fight sequences, the tone of the film, the character interactions, the development of the characters, and just some kick@$$ VFX. Oh, and maybe an upgraded Cap suit. Not that I hated the one in The Avengers, but I do wish that they'd have added ear holes in his cowl and some dragon scale type design going on in the suit. But despite that, I just have a good feeling that this film will kick the B.O.'s @$$. ;)

This is the one movie of Phase 2 that I know the least about so far, so obviously it gives me the most concern. However, I have faith that it can be great. At least we get more Scarjo to look at. :)

Really? I mean the movie is called "The Winter Soldier"....

I think Johansson looks great with short hair. It definitely makes her stunts a lot more practical without the wig/extensions whipping/obscuring her face. But you know, I wouldn't mind either way - whatever works best for them.

I'm kind of wondering what Natasha's role is going to be in the movie. There's a lot of windows there - she could be infiltrating Hydra, she could be working alongside Cap (unlikely), or she could simply be a contact for an extended cameo. What I'm hoping is that they'll avoid Natasha checking in on someone who was brainwashed.... it would just be too familiar.

Stan is going to have to bulk up to be a threat. Evans has already provedhe can get big, Mackie got big for pain and gain, and the guy that plays Crossbones i already pretty fit. He desnt need to be the Hulk but about the size of the pic SageMode posted seems right to me
