Georges St-Pierre Playing ‘Batroc the Leaper’ In CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

Revealing a new villain to be Batroc the Leaper, new reports claim that martial artist & UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre will expand the cast of Marvel’s 2014 “political thriller!”

While scheduled to commence filming in the month of May, duo-directors Anthony and Joe Russo are rounding out the cast of Marvel’s third Phase Two film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In keeping with Latino Review’s most recent scoop, “just got off the phone with my Marvel source who gave me an Exclusive,” Canadian mixed martial artist Georges St-Pierre (GSP) has officially signed on for the 2014 sequel as the mercenary villain known as (surprise) Georges Batroc, aliased Batroc the Leaper. As the current Welterweight Champion of the UFC, Georges St-Pierre, 31, has only starred in three martial arts-based films, all of which were released back in 2009. About his character, Batroc the Leaper has no powers in the comic books, but he is a master in Savate, the French art of foot fighting, as well as kickboxing and many other martial arts disciplines. Also, with Academy Award-winning actor Robert Redford joining The Winter Soldier cast recently, sources of Latino Review report that his senior S.H.I.E.L.D. character’s name is Pierce. What do you think?

Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where the highly anticipated “Marvel’s The Avengers” leaves off, as Steve Rogers continues his affiliation with Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D., and struggles to embrace his role in the modern world. Starring Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Toby Jones, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Maximiliano Hernández, Hayley Atwell, Scarlett Johansson with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed Anthony Russo & Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on Marvel’s classic super hero Captain America, who first appeared in the comic book “Captain America #1” in March, 1941. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is presented by Marvel Studios and produced by Kevin Feige and co-produced by Nate Moore. The executive producers are Louis D'Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso and Michael Grillo. The film releases April 4, 2014, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. In addition to “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on other iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Thor: The Dark World ” on November 8, 2013; “Guardians of the Galaxy” on August 1, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

Let's see Winter Soldier, Crossbones, Zola, and now Batroc. That's four villians right now.

How many does IM3 have? Mandarin, Aldrich, Savin, and Taggert.

So i don't see a problem.

I love how people shit on el mayimbe, but the dude has been right more often than not. I guess people under the age of 18 don't remember he broke the news about Bale being Batman, Aaron Eckheart being two face and Ledger being the joker. Not too mention he got his hands on the Batman Begins script a year before the film came out. The dude maybe a self promoter, but there is not denying he has connections in the industry.

He never said it was official, and Momoa was the top choice until he tried to play hard ball with Marvel. They were also the ones who reported that Batista was the top choice after that. Maybe your dumbass missed that part though.

I think people often get confused with Villain and Henchmen on this site. None of you have read a comic book now have you. This isn't the case of having three huge villains in one moive. Batrocs a merc, Crossbones a merc, and your not going to get zemo if you do they'll probably fuse him with Alex Lukin.

Also IM3 villain breakdown for the retarded Mandarin top dog>Aldrich right hand man>everyone else Extremis soldier.

WWE is different than the UFC you clown.

also, nothing wrong with getting well known fighters to play roles that would normally have gone to stuntmen

Yes look at Marvel Studios how low they have succummed casting wrestlers like Robert Redford oh wait a minute the dudes not an wrestler I heard he's this thing called a AC-TOR don't know what it is though. Apparently he's damn fine at being an AC-TOR.

Also if your gonna complain please don't compare an MMA fighter to a wrestler I beg you. Besides that do whatever it is you wish.

Yeah, Latino Review has been right more than wrong. They have been off on some things, but they've gotten a lot of things spot on (Thanos in Avengers, multiple armors in Iron Man 3, Ben Kingsley playing Mandarin, Brandon Routh as Superman, Heath Ledger as Joker, Guardians of the Galaxy movie in 2014, I can go on). So unless we get official confirmation otherwise, I'd go with what they put out.

Definitely one of Cap most underrated villains. I'm excited. Curious to see how all these characters are gonna work in together.

FrenzyFreak - 3/25/2013, 2:22 PM
@Hellsing They probably are gonna have Zemo considering there still casting another villain role with 2 actors that have similar appearances. And why the hell would they fuse him with Lukin? That makes no sense. Their both too big of characters to mix together unlike Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo (IM2).

And the Batroc thing is fine. I doubt it'll be a large role though.

!!!? Wow.. I do think that's too many villains but Falcon and Sharon have gotta have somebody to fight too I guess..
Maybe Batroc will only appear in Falcon's intro.? ehhhnnn.. I Can't wait

Batroc? The Leaper? Erm... Sure, why not! But who'd have thought we'd be seeing Batroc the Leaper in a movie before we see Ultron or Kang?
