As confirmed in yesterday’s announcement that Marvel has commenced principal photography, UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre is set to play Georges Batroc, aka Batroc the Leaper, in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. During an interview with SportsNet, the martial artist shared what Marvel asked of him concerning his physical appearance for the role and, furthermore, how long he’ll take part in filming. Starting at the 1:15 mark in the video, there’s a transcription below.
“They asked me to let my hair grow to play a villain. I also let my [facial] hair grow; it took me a month to grow this. I don't know [how long the movie is filming], but I'll be in LA for a week. It's my first experience, so it'll be fun and I'm excited. For this kind of thing, I'm not nervous.”.
“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” picks up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L.
